Is this compatible with the royalty DLC?
Pretty sure it is
It's not very compatible with dynamic diplomacy. Your faction will randomly takeover other settlements but you'll have no control over that settlement. Also if your settlement is taken over by another faction, you'll still have control over it.

Hmm Hows this play with extended storage? I couldnt create a settlement dispite having 10k silver sitting in a skip and the settlement cost was only 1k. Started working fine after I moved the silver to a stockpile
if you have the Faction Discovery mod then it will make a new AI faction of yours that you have no control over.

and when i turned Empire off my village was removed from the world map making the game lock up when you look at the map. dont know if its because it removes the AI player faction that Faction Discovery added or if it just doesnt like being turned off

yeah, silver that's stored in containers in [JDS] simply storage can't be used for other settlements unless it's in a normal stockpile
Are there any benefits to running this with the Royalty DLC? Or is it better without it?
i have this mod running with a bevy of other mods,however nothing works,if i go into the mod menu everything but the list is gone including the butten to leave....and when i go into the options menu,theres just nothing,except the exit butten

That means there's a hard incompatibility or you're running old mods not compatible with the current version of rimworld. I run an absolute ton of mods and I do not have this issue unless I run unpatched 1.0 mods.

On-topic however, this mod does indeed cause some funky stuff with Faction Discovery - when you create your first settlement, Faction discovery will immediately generate a new faction for it on the world map, and if either are turned off it breaks the world map entirely.
This seems to be slightly incompatible with "Faction Discovery" (It generates factions and some bases that say that they are in the player faction on the faction tab.
There seems to be a incompatibility with Medieval Rimworld (Limits your tech tree to only medieval for tribal playthroughs)
