Taxes billed are based upon the income amount of the day the taxes are actually billed.
For 5 days I had an event that allowed me to get 2x the silver amount for logging so I put all of my workers on that to gain somewhere around 2000 silver. The even ended just before taxes are billed. Once the event ended, I immediately changed the workers around so that I would still remain profitable gaining around 500 silver from animals. Taxes were billed immediately after the logging event ended. Once taxes were billed, I received the exact amount of silver for changing to animals versus 5 days of logging (~2000 silver) + less than half a day of animals.

Taxes received should be averaged out across the entire week that they are accrued versus billed at the amount the day that taxes are due.

first of all, it's for performance, second of all it lets you NOT stress out min/maxing each settlement at after each event that happens. (which in my experience only happens right after a tax day)
if you want what you write here, set the settings to tax every day... that's excessive... but so is what you want.

Highly disagree that it's excessive to expect taxation, that occurs once every six days or about a little more than the equivalent of a RL month (four quadrums of 15 days in a year, each quadrum is basically equivalent to a three-month season, so 6 days or 40% of a quadrum , to be based upon what was done over said week. All it has to do is get the value for silver earned at the end of the day and store it, then sum up the values for that week on tax day and then apply the tax formula to that value. It's barely any additional overhead.
A one time check is much smoother for performance.
If your worried about the numbers dont stack all your pop onto a single thing, wood, food, animal yeah, you could just stack knowing you will get more silver or you could space some around so YOU have a more roleplay feel and know there is productiveness in food and materials. Just choose to not cheese so hard. real ez
