Thoughts and ideas
Warning: upcoming spoilers for EHOF/Reality Code/Crisis

I just finished a long playthrough with EHOF installed and I had quite a few thoughts on it

To be clear, I absolutely think the pros wayyyy outweigh the cons, this mod is a solid 8-9/10 for me. These are just my own thoughts and opinions from playing through it :)

Pros:

+++ Seamlessly integrates into the main game. This could be added to Vanilla and I wouldn't have a second thought.

+++ The core mechanic, the EHOF facility itself, is a much-needed addition to the game as mid-game exploration trails off very quickly in vanilla.

+++ The crisis, in terms of graphics, design and lore, is my absolute favorite in the entire game.

+++ The crisis seems to have a modified AI which is far superior to that of the vanilla AI, and I found it reacting to my actions in a way that provoked some genuinely interesting scenarios

+++ The Stellar Anihillator is awesome.

++ The Reality Code is a cool little questline with an insane discovery at the end

++ Models, graphical effects and UI all look brilliant.

+ The traders are cool and their associated backstory is interesting to read through

Cons:

--- The crisis, especially when you raise the crisis strength slider, is borderline impossible to beat without other mods. This is just a matter of tweaking some numbers, maybe it would be a good idea to make this crisis unaffected by the vanilla slider so you can still fight a strong vanilla crisis and not get annihilated by this one.

- The trader's mechanics are a bit lackluster. They have an awesome buildup, so it'd be cool if they sold unique goods rather than single-use relics.

- The ending to the crisis is ever so slightly anti-climatic. I'm sure this is something that will be expanded, but in my playthrough all that happened was Stellar Anillator did its thing and then... nothing. They were gone.

Bugs:

* Fleets seem to have a lot of difficulties pathing through Archaic Pylons, especially when it involves traveling through a Trader wormhole. I would sometimes find 10+ colony ships all stuck at a wormhole.

* The sentient metal project doesn't trigger sometimes. I saw that the devs were already aware of this so this will probably not be an issue anymore.

* Stellar Anihillator seems to be unable to properly follow fleets. When I selected that option, it moved to constantly be in FTL.

Suggestions:

* Make the crisis unable to trigger alongside a vanilla crisis. I believe this is exclusive to GA difficulty and is done intentionally, but what actually ends up happening is the Compound will annihilate the vanilla crisis, so it's sort of pointless.

* Add some more unique worlds/tech to Wormhole-Cohesive systems.

* Allow for some way to travel between W-C systems earlier, I think that the trader systems are supposed to allow for this, but as I mentioned, fleets often have trouble getting between them.

I'd be interested to hear other people's experiences.

Thanks very much to the dev team for making such a brilliant mod :)

Hey I only just noticed this, first off thanks for the review, i'll address the cons :)

1 ) I'm in the process of making the compound much better, i've recoded them from the ground up and you're right, they do not use vanilla AI at all, they're 100% event driven, which of course comes with its own challenges, but eventually should make for a better crisis.

2) I would like to add more stuff to the trader, it's having the time, I was going to add some techs from gigas to them and stuff, again, it's just a time thing.

3) This has been said before, I'll take a look at it

Bugs:

1 ) I wasn't aware of this, i'll check it out

2) Yea, it will be fixed in the next update

3) SA is broken at the moment, It will be fixed along with the compound in the next updates

Suggestions

1) You're probably right, I think I'm going to add some options for the mod inside the EHOF menu for disabling/enabling things like this instead

2) Time, I want to, there's stuff in the pipe, it's just time

3) The next update will make the reality code significantly easier shorter, this should help with that problem I hope

Again, thanks for taking the time to give feedback, it was very constructive :)
