Other than that it looks good. I hope valve can overlook brute's death grip on this map and make it official.
Another thing that i noticed was that there are still quite a lot of surfaces that can be nodrawed. Other than that, on quicklook i didn't notice. I'll be running this on my server to see what players think about it.
@desto The boxes are spammable if you shoot through 1 layer. But i guess thats what you meant.
I'm also not excited for the visuals, because it is just another one of the middle-eastern maps. DustVI, anyone?
If I'm being honest, it doesn't look like it is set in Italy at all... 90% of the props contain Arabic writing or have an Arabic origin. The architectural style and textures look more Moroccan than anything else.
Obviously Brutes original CSS Tuscan didn't look Italian either however I'd probably advertise the setting as being middle eastern or make some major visual design tweaks.
Look at a few reference pictures of Tuscany as well, it's a very green and lush area of Italy, with very traditional architectural themes.
The indoor lighting is lovely for the most part, with lots of atmosphere. However the outdoor lighting is quite dull and boring personally, some morning yellows or hints of orange/blue would not go amiss in creating the perfect Mediterranean feel.
A great point of reference would be de_ali and de_inferno. Both maps capture the traditional Mediterranean feel really well, in CSGO's art style, particularly de_ali.
It's nice to see people giving Tuscan a CSGO make over, and it's a promising start :)
Good luck with this and future projects.
thnx for the feedback Prof! i will use this in the next update.
i appreciate it!
The brushwork on the sewer ladder needs to look less like brushwork
Storage Area 1 needs to be widened
The map name should be changed to de_toscana (italian for Tuscany)
