Extended F.A.Q
1. What version does the mod support? Will it be updated next patch?
This mod currently supports 1.29.5 Manchu update.

Mod will be updated as quickly as possible upon new big patch release. We can't pledge to a specific time window in which the mod will be updated, sorry.

2. I hate Steam and the workshop! Can I manually download the mod from somewhere?
Yes! We do have a direct download link for those who can't get the workshop working, can't access it (heh) or otherwise just want to have a local version of the mod.
https://github.com/AlejandroGiner/Lux-in-Tenebris/releases

In the link above you can check the latest stable release of the mod, which should correspond with the latest update on the workshop.
To download it, simply click the file ending in .zip to download it (not the one ending in tar.gz!)[i.imgur.com] <·· click in the text for an illustrative image

3. Okay, very cool, but how do I install it?
To manually install EU4 mods theres 2 ways; using the new Paradox launcher or the traditional way (will post soon).

To install any mod using the new launcher, all you have to do is use the tools the launcher itself brings you:
  1. Of course, be sure to have downloaded the mod. The answer to question 2 has a link from where you can download the latest stable release of the mod.

  2. You now should have a .zip with the name of the mod and the current version (for example: "Lux-in-Tenebris-1.0.zip").
Extract it. You can extract it anywhere; in the desktop, in the download folder, etc.

  3. You should now have a folder that has the same name as the .zip, but without the .zip (for example: "Lux-in-Tenebris-1.0".

Leave the folder there, it'll be of use later.

  4. Now open the EU4 launcher. You should have a plethora of buttons, amongst them, theres 'mods'. Click it.

  5. Now that you are in the mods section of the launcher, you should have a button that reads 'mod tools'. Click that one now.

  6. You are officially creating your own local mod now, yay!
You can set any name you want here, its directory and the version.
    For example, LuxInTenebris
After you're done, click 'create mod', and when it's done close the EU4 launcher.

  7. Now what this did was create an empty mod in your documents folder called 'LuxInTenebris', for you to fill its folder with anything you want.

  8. Now you must go to the following directory:
    Users\Whatever your username may be\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Europa Universalis IV\mod

  9. Remember that old "Lux-in-Tenebris-1.0" folder you had in step 3? Its time to shine has come.
Copy the contents inside the "Lux-in-Tenebris-1.0" folder, except the file 'Descriptor.mod', and paste them into the newly created, empty mod you just created with the launcher, "LuxInTenebris"
NOTE: IF IT ASKS YOU TO REPLACE 'Descriptor.mod', DO NOT REPLACE IT, CLICK SKIP

  10. Your LuxInTenebris (or the name you chose for it) folder should now look like this:

  11. If it does, then you're likely good to go. Simply open EU4 launcher again and 'LuxInTenebris', or whatever name you chose for it, should be in the mod list.
If it doesn't show up, it will most likely be at the bottom of the mod list, so if you have many mods installed, click on 'Manage mods' and scroll until you see it

  12. Enable it and enjoy!

4. Help, my localisation does not work as intended
We only support English localization currently. If you're playing in another language, you will most likely have a sizeable amount of the game in English.

Spanish and Italian support may be done in the future based on community feedback. If you want to contribute and help translate the mod into another language, contact any of the developers.

5. When will new content release? What can we expect from new patches?
We are but starting to 'finish' the base of what will be the mod. We expect to finish all major map overhauls within the first few patches, and from there focus almost entirely on flavor and expanding existing systems.

We can't predict for sure release dates, but we may show every now and then sneak peeks of what's being done and how close we are to a new update.

6. Will you rebalance X? What about MP players?
The base mod is designed entirely around a single player experience, and it is thus only balanced for it.

However we intend to release in the future several sub-mods overhauling or rebalancing different systems and features, one of such sub-mods a MP friendly rebalancing patch.

7. You guys are cool and I'd like to help you
While we do not currently have an open development due to being a small, amateur team, we are open to some types of community contributions regarding non-English localization and dynamic province names (check pinned threads).

Feel free to contact the developers for further details.

8. I'm eager to play the new sneak peek and I dont want to wait!
Our developing is done mainly in Github, which is open to public download at any moment.
You can visit it clicking on the Github icon on the mod's main page or here:

Feel free to also check the #github-commits channel in our Discord server for instant updates on new, likely unfinished or unpolished, content being uploaded.
