Tamed Astrocetus Dying
Hello, I am really enjoying this mod and it is wonderful work! Thank you for providing us with this great addition.

I posted about this before in bug reports, and received a response, but I am continuing to have issues and I am not sure what the cause could be.

On my Crystal Isles server we have other mods that control spawns such as the Crystal Isles Dino Addition, Simple Spawners, as well as Improved Flyers. I'm not sure if these could be affecting the issue I am having.

After taming an Astrocetus, it appears that they randomly will lose percentages of their health, all at once, until they die. We have observed this issue in 4 separate whales, in 3 separate places on the map. The time in which it happens seems to vary, one was tamed for a day or so and another was tamed for 10 minutes before it started taking damage and eventually perishing. I observed the most recent one, it had full food and full health, and its health went down in chunks before it ultimately died. The death message simply says "____ was killed!"

The whales were all wearing saddles when they died. Not sure if that affects anything. None were inside structures, but they were near structures (We use S+). We tried both legitimately tamed Astrocetus as well as manually spawned and dotame'd Astrocetus.

We are not having any issues with other Genesis creatures spawned by this mod.

I have searched and searched for answers on Google, but have turned up no results. There must be some sort of conflict happening...that is very specific in my case. I truly am at a loss!

Thank you for taking the time to read my issue, I appreciate your consideration and help!

Ah, I have noticed a small detail....When I spawned in an Astrocetus, I used the original spawn command for the base game Astrocetus. I will try with the modded Astrocetus, however I would imagine the legitimately tamed ones were the modded ones. This makes me think it isn't an issue with the mod. However, I can't find any documentation of this issue. I really am not sure what could be happening.

I have tried it out. Upon trying to spawn an Astrocetus using "cheat summon SpaceWhale_Character_BP_ReplFix_C", nothing appears.

Yeah, the mod no longer provides a modded Astrocetus, and the vanilla one is used with a better patch to combat it not being replicated.

This sounds like something that would be more common, so it's strange this is the first report of it. I'll take a look again at its scripts, but it's quite baffling given your descriptions of how it dies.

Ah, found we've got a note on the wiki that's vaguely similar:
Surprise Raid Dino: Thanks to its warp ability, you could use it to warp into a tribe's vicinity with all your prepared dinos without the enemy tribe knowing quickly taking them out before they can react via bombs, turrets, and the other creatures you bring with you. Do note that when dismounting the astrocetus outside of the lunar biome, it may start taking damage for no reason. This usually occurs lower to the ground.

I'm unable to find what would cause it though, and am unable to get a repro myself. Considering this is happening outside the lunar biome, perhaps it's something related to the gravity.

Hi Alex, thank you for the reply! This is quite odd that I'm the first one reporting issues of this. I can try keeping the whales higher in the air or in storage. I'm no modder so I have no idea what is happening in the internals of the game to make them take damage like this....Wildcard has some weird shenanigans going on for sure! Thank you so much for looking into this for me.
