Rise of Nations
A request to the developers concerning the ideology system.
Greetings, developers.

What I will suggest will imply a lot of work, so I would like to state it while the mod is still in its early development stages.

I believe it would be in the best interests of historical immersion to use a system of political subfactions for each of the 4 Outlooks/ideologies, the exact same model implemented in "Millenium Dawn: Modern Day Mod" in its current form.

The custom ideologies created by the developers, like Titoism, White Nationalism, Castroism, Fascist Monarchy, "ISIS Ideology", et al., WILL be mantained inside this system, thus not wasting the efforts, dedication and the "personal touch" of the developers. For example, "Castroism" would be the description of the State Communism political party/subfaction of Cuba (Partido Comunista Cubano - PCC), while alongside it there would exist as well other variants of the Emerging Outlook, like Anarcho-Communism, Autocracy and Reactionarism. Similar to "MD". In the absence of historical information about some country's representatives of a certain idea, it's OK to use a generic description.

Personally, I suggest requesting permission to the developers of "Millenium Dawn: Modern Day Mod" to copy their already finished Outlook-subfaction system, and then just make the necessary historical adjustments for the WW1, WW2 and Cold War start dates. This is in order to speed things up.

I really want to play "Rise of Nations", but the subfactions system of "MD" is something I miss big time, even from vanilla "HoI IV". It allows greater historical accuracy, customization and political roleplaying. I mean, look at Syria, the SSNP is not the country's ruling party, even though it is influential. The Government of Bashar Al-Assad follows the philosphy of Ba'athism, not "Social Nationalism".

Concerning the country flags: just like "MD", it is not necessary to make a custom flag for each subfaction of every country in the world. That's an awful lot of work! Just the ones that might believably change, like the Russian monarchists, or maybe salafists, changing the Soviet flag if they take over, for example. Trump didn't change America's flag after he replaced Obama, right? Again, I suggest asking permission to the developers of "MD" to make use of their work.

That's all. I really see the potential of "Rise of Nations" as THE DEFINITIVE MOD for "Hearts of Iron IV"! It is being made with the contributions authored by several other modders from the community, making this mod a really global project. It also brought new life life to some other great mods that met their untimely ends, like the "Cold War: The Iron Curtain" mod.

Since the mod is still in its early beginnings, it is to be expected that there exists some issues, bugs and things to work out or correct. One of those things, I believe, is the lack of subfactions for each Outlook.

Do not waver! Do not let up!

Make "Rise of Nations" the mod of mods!



TL;DR: "Rise of Nations" needs the "Millenium Dawn: Modern Day Mod" system of political parties/subfactions for each of the 4 Outlooks.
