2.7 Issues
Don't know about you guys, but many people have encountered issues with this mod ever since 2.7.1 launched. I was able to verify some of these issues.

1) Mods simply aren't loading. Despite being enabled in the launcher. This only seem to happen from Steam versions of this mod, as my local version of these mods remain unaffected.

2) Issues relating to CB/Wargoals are known, but will not be worked on until issue #1 is fixed. Speaking of which, how are you able to declare war when the base mod isn't even loading into the game?

Feel free to report more issues relating to 2.7 here, as well as any workarounds.

UPDATE:

I have discovered a potential issue that could cause people not seeing the Ascension Perk, or the mod not being loaded despite enabling it in the launcher. Apparently, it is possible that a local version of ZoFE will conflict with the Steam version. You have have only one in the launcher at any one time. Them both being in the launcher will cause issues even if they are not both enabled.

To remedy the issue, I suggest people only run the Steam downloaded version and delete the one in their mods folder, or run their own ZoFE version in the local mod folder, and delete the steam version. That is the only known fix to the issue. More information here:

I have the Steam version, downloaded automatically and enabled in the launcher. It is working for me for the most part, apart from the wargoals issues. My other issue I have been having is the techs showing up without the special project prerequisites being completed, but I was getting that one when the latest submod was released, before the 2.7.1 update, so it may be unrelated to any other issues people are having.

It appears at least some people do get the mod loaded, like me. Or at least they have been able to. I haven't disabled it since I downloaded it after the latest update, which may be the reason.

I'll be uploading the fixes to the wargoals issues shortly.

As for the techs showing up without the special projects being completed, I would like to know the following:

Which techs are you referring to? Do you have Ancient Relics installed?

Same here, I get the omni weapons, the weapons with the white icons, I have the ancient Relics installed, after I become an ascended empire I can research every automated building including the lost tech ones.

The thing I changed before was to set technology weights from 0 to 1. I can try to set them back to 0 to see if that changes things.

I'll upload the patch shortly

This was researched via normal means?

You could say that, I just used the finish_research console command for every single tech (so basically I did it one by one) to showcase which techs showed up as a normal empire. This happens in every game regardless of cheats/console commands.

I have all the DLC installed and enabled, as well as all of the sub-mods for this mod except the starting ships and rooms one.

Before ascending, as a normal empire, the X size Omni weapons are all available for research as well as the Omni titan gun. They show up normally in my research options as rare techs, just like any other technology would.

After ascending the rest of the Omni weapons as well as the other special weapons added by the mod, like the tier 4 strike craft, all show up in the same way. In addition the techs that are supposed to be locked behind the special projects, like the Societal Ascendance tech, are also showing up. This includes the ones that are supposed to require researching artifacts to show up, like the advanced industry one. Researching them gives access to the techs that are supposed to be locked behind the projects.

All of this has been found in three separate games I have played, one before the 2.7.1 update and two after, during normal gameplay. It has happend with no other mods installed, and with two different cases of single other mods installed.

EDIT: Just noticed you put out a new patch. I will try it and see if it has fixed the issue.

Please let me know if the issue sticks around. I know I haven't fixed it fully, but it's a partial fix to see if it was the right direction. If it is, then I implement the rest of the changes.

So far my result is that in my save game, and in the previous saves of the same game, it remains an issue. I am still working on progressing a new save to the point where the issue presents itself, but I don't want to go too far into the console commands just in case it may affect something.

Don't worry about it. Use console commands right away! (It shouldn't affect anything). I can't do anything about the games that have happened though.

Okay, in a new save game, I used the finish_research command to force my way through the tech tree. As soon as tier 5 techs became available I had Omni Lance and Omni Titan Lance show up as standard research options. I have not ascended. I thought it might have something to do with playing a machine empire, but I tried it a second time as a regular organic empire with the same result.

The next patch deployed today will fix the Omni weapons and Portal Generators in the same way. Let me know if that works.

Just wanted to say that the Automated Industries lost tech is working with the may 16. patch, it doesn't throw the tech in the research options for now. (it was a problem after ascending). Well it's working for now. Should anything change I'll post an update.
