I love this mod and I still haven't tried anything but default settings. I find it is important to decide what I do with certain material types and try to stick to it so I can make it to the post O2, post cooling part of the game successfully.

What I do with materials:
Sandstone - hatches only. No pipes, tiles, etc should be made of this stuff
Sedimentary Rock - default building material as there's a lot of it
Granite - saved for special purposes and decor
Gold Amalgam - Any early object made from metal ore (toilets, grill, grooming station, etc) and power wires
Iron Ore - Don't use, save for Iron and later Steel
Copper Ore - Turn to Copper in the rock crusher, specifically because it gives you 50kg of SAND. There's no sand on this map. And early game, you aren't ready for Regolith. Use for conductive wire later in game and other refined metal when Iron isn't necessary.

played it until cycle 368. Space provides you with infinite amount of filtration medium wich is the only real limiting factor in terms of imminent death on this map you are facing, unless you are playing without any water geyser but on default you are guaranteed to have one. Coal can be one, but even if you run out of it its not a big deal, can always go manual just manage your consumption wisely.

So main steps to our happines are: refine metal, get suits, setup steam turbine or any source of energy and heat deletion method.
Plastic you get from drecko farm, steam turbine can leech heat from magma layer for 500+ cycles I think. Somewhere around 150 cycles you may need to seal space with bunker tiles and doors untill you are ready.

By the way I think you can straight up dump hot regolith into sieves and heat on it will be deleted.

Small tip for steam automation system - make sure your automation wires, pipes and and normal wires are not exposed to overheat or build couple required tiles with steel. Replacing them is annoying after you sealed everything.

thats pretty much it, no need for extremely complicated resource management or anything. If you run out of some resources you can get what you need from bottom layer for your first rocket and care packages if you didnt disable them.

is it possible to increase outer space

Ceramic is your friend when you head for the magma biome.

Ceramic is also great for insulating the areas where the bunker doors go. Also vacuum in between helps. Had to rush bunker doors around cycle 80 or so as the meteors were quite aggressive at eating through the abyssalite layer.

It's quite fun playing with the limited space available. I had to rework my usual designs to make them as compact as possible.

I think the only real way to lose on this map is to take on too many dupes. I stuck with the original 3 for over 100 cycles then added a fourth, but this made many things quite slow and was probably too conservative.
