Is there any special way to activate them? I still have original footstep sounds.

Try typing snd_restart to a console.

Nope, didn't help.

Alright, now they work. There is a conflict with other mod. Since I'm only using weapons sound mod, it has to be that one.
I do have one issue with your mod, though. They are too loud compared to the others sound effects. In fact, footstep sounds are much louder than shooting sounds, which is frankly ridiculous. You might want to change that.

I did make them louder than the default sounds, but they shouldn't be that loud.

I just updated it. It might still need more work, but for now it should be better than it was.

could you make a mod where it gives the npcs their original voice lines from the original half life?

Maybe for the HECU, but I don't think I'll do it for the scientists or security guards.

Unfortunately not, since both mods replace the same file.

Is there an option to bring this mod over to L4D2? Since they are both source and share common physical material.

I can try to make a L4D2 version, but that game does not like sound mods, so I don't know if it will work or not. Hopefully it will.

Do you still have to use a custom folder with the new 1.5 update?
