You will be unable to use the tongue if your face is hidden (either by wearing a diving mask, or a diving suit, or anything of those sorts).
I intentionally removed every "perk" and "downside" of the husk infection. You'll notice that it doesn't render you mute, but at the same time it no longer gives you any advantages. This is because I moved those aspects of the infection to the "symbiotic husk" added in this mod way before the game had implemented the husk genes, so I really had no way to take them into consideration, on account of them not existing. I plan to fix this "feature conflict" sometime soon.
This is on purpose, yes. When you actually die and turn into an AI controlled human husk, three stingers will pop out of your face, which can destroy the visor of any diving suit you may be wearing, while if you are still in control of yourself, there will only be a singular, weaker one.
Time for me to look into that "symbiotic husk" you created ;-)
How do you get this "symbiotic husk"? I really love the husk genes effects on your character, and love using it, but at the same time this mod I both love and stops me from using the genes straight up.
