Ocras Alt Helmet

Hmm, there's just somethings really off...
Look, I kinda see where you're going for with this helmet. It's a somewhat of a hood/cap-like design with a face but a noticeable jaw/mouthpiece. That's generally fine, but I think there are a few things that don't really look well-executed in the piece.

The first thing I would say is strange is the jaw itself. It's oddly not the main focus of the helmet, and doesn't really look connected to the rest of the helmet. Especially with the way how its only metallic, I feel like if it was a mix of Secondary and Accents it could work more. Also the way how the jaw seems to only be in the front seems like a missed opportunity to extend it's sides further throughout the helmet; to give the sense of a wider mouth. And another thing is the way how the jaw just seems to end at the bottom, again, with some Secondary acting as a base for it or around it could help it look less abrupt.

The general shape of the helmet is also a bit off-putting. From the front it looks very droopy, but from the sides it looks more streamlined. Even on shots from an angle, the side parts of the helmet are too ambiguous to tell where the curve is. I feel like if the sides were flattened or maybe were curved to a greater degree to it would help give it a better shape.

And the final issue I have with it, is the "eyes" within the helmet, is a bit too obvious. I feel like if it was obscured more by the top part or the jaw, it would be a bit less blatant. It could also be how the face area is generally a flat surface with the eyes being more within the shape. It just doesn't read well when looking forward.

The helmet is a nice idea, but the way how it's meant to focus on its jaw has the design looking a bit misguided. Combine that with the general shape of the help looking strange, definitely gives some room for improvement. I hope you keep up the good work.

(By the way, as a little tangent, I've been noticed on your Twitter that you drew some sort of Mayan-esque helmet for Atlas. And I gotta say it looks pretty good. But I've also noticed you been uploading a lot of items recently, and it's fine to take a break. It's probably a collection of different items you had in the oven for some time, but I'm just saying. If you upload another item tomorrow I'm going to get actually worried.) Cheers.

I appreciate the constructive feedback! I can definitely see what youre talking about! I'll take a look again once I get feedback from DE and have my little break from sculpting lol

But yes, the next projects wont be for a while as clearing the backlog of projects has been a bit wild!

He is right, I was trying put my finger what was off-putting me on this helmet, and it's the disconnect with the "jaw" and the rest that threw me off. I absolutely agree with this concrit. Fine start and nice idea, but yeah clearly still rawish. This will be a fin helmet with some revision. Thank you Hydroxate for your work tho!

i think with 3 tweaks, small ones this could make it into game, have you tried partnering up with someone to do a skin?
