This is a repost of what I suggest to the original author back in January. I hope you'll incorporate some of it. I really hate having to pay Germany for the Panzer II design lol.

First I just want to say I enjoy your mod. Second, if you ever continue this mod, I'd like to see the mostly generic tech tree updated to match the OTL. Historically Iran purchased the following:

1. Renault FT-17 light tanks
2. ČKD Panzer 38(t) light tanks
3. Curtiss P-36 Hawk fighters
4. Bofors 40mm anti-aircraft gun
5. Bofors 75/80mm mm Model 1929 anti-aircraft gun
6. Bofors 75mm Model 1934 mountain gun
7. Skoda 37mm anti-tank gun
8. Skoda 75 mm Model 1939 mountain gun
9. Skoda 10 cm M. 14 Feldhaubitze howitzer
10. Skoda 10 cm houfnice vz. 30 howitzer
11. Skoda 105 mm Model 1939 mountain gun
12. Polikarpov R-5 reconnaissance aircraft
13. Hawker Hart light bomber
14. Breguet 19 reconnaissance and bomber aircraft
15. LaFrance TK-6 armored car

So you want the Iranian tech-tree enhanced to include the sprites for the equipment types you have mentioned?

Yes please. I looked em all up to make sure they were factually correct for the time period regarding Iran and it would help flesh it out more. It would be nice to see the proper icons, stats and sprites put in place instead of the generic crap most countries get stuck with.

Yeah I feel ya those blacked out sprites surely aren't the most immersive! Thank you very much for the Information! This is very helpful! I am making a spreadsheet right now to process your information just have to look which countries use the ones you mentioned and at which dates etc. :D

edit: Interestingly the ČKD Panzer 38(t) light tanks you mention which wiki also states to be a light tank is actually the medium CZE tank ingame. So I am not quite sure which light tanks I should give iran. Maybe just all of the CZE tanks except for the french one which is the basic 1918 version? And also a question remains and it is which sprites should I use for equipment where there is no historic counterpart for? (e.g. light and heavy tanks, aircraft types etc.)

I would just go with whatever works best for you. I'm not picky and I'm just grateful you're taking my suggestions under advisement. Also I don't think the way the tech tree is made that you'll be able to integrate everything. You don't need to implement everything on the list but I would like to see the inclusion of the Panzer 38 (t) and the howitzers and the P-36. As I said so much generic stuff and it would be nice to see of of the tech tree and division sprites fleshed out.

Once I start working on it I can't release it half baked sorry. ^^ If I start replacing blacked out generic sprites then I will do all.

I did some more research on iranian WW2 equipment and cross compared it with which countries in the game have those models so I'll do it like this:
For artillery and Anti-tank: All Czech as you linked cze AT and artillery
For Anti air: All Hungarian (hungary uses the Bofors anti-air you mentioned)
Planes:
-For CAS I'll use the USA thunderbolt as Iranian Airforce had them.
-Scout Planes: R10 Soviet as Iran had R5 soviet Scout planes.
-Fighter: ENG hawker hurricane 1936 fighter ,USA Bell P-39 Airacobra 1940 fighter model as iran had the p36 which is contemporary.
-Naval Bomber: Netherlands Fokker planes as iran had Fokker planes shorty after ww2.
-For Bomber and Heavy Fighter I'll use the British ones. (Iran had some early british bombers)
French TK-6 armored cars & later models .
Tanks:
-Great War Tank: FRA FT-17 model.
-CZE ČKD Panzer 38(t) as you said & later models as medium tanks.
-Romanian Tanks as light tanks (I found out that the Iranians also used a tank called AH-IV tankette which the Romanians use an exact model ingame of as their R1+R2 light tanks!).

Whew this became quite the research project. :D Now I definitely know too much about Iranian ww2 equipment. lol

Thank you for your hard work. If you don't mind I have a few more items to add to the list. In the small arms category Iran used the Czech ZB vz. 26 light machine gun and ZB 53 medium machine gun as well as the Soviet PPSh-41 sub-machine gun and like with the Czech vz. 24 rifle had a license to produce them all. In game for the Iranians it even has the PPSh-41 in the focus tree but the picture is of the German Sturmgewehr 44 instead.

In addition, what would you say to maybe filling out other parts with what if equipment? Perhaps the Iranians would have bought Tiger tanks given the opportunity? Also have you given thought to adding more options to the National Focus tree? Or perhaps more Iranian companies for the research development?

Again thank you for your hard work and Master Splinters. I wish I could help more beyond suggestions and tracking down info but I'm not very good at this modding business.
