So, what do you folks use the Flak for?
Real gun-type ground-to-air anti-aircraft weaponry and ammunition, has pretty much since its inception always supported some form or another of, one, AoE damage in (usually) the form of fragmentation, and two, adjustment of the place along the trajectory where that damage is inflicted, either by reacting to targets nearby or by passing some time of flight, or both.

However, in SE, there's no such thing as a proximity or a timed fuze for any projectile. All weapons, without exception, must rely on a direct impact to do their damage. Or they must hope to score a lucky proximity strike at the perimeter of the weapon's range where the ammunition auto-destructs. Which is more or less defeated by turrets only starting to fire when targets cross that perimeter, wasting the time of flight of the projectiles to that perimeter during which the target is very likely to have long left the hot zone.

So, with that, what, apart from the pretty fireworks, do you use guns for that have "Flak" in the name in some variation or another?

Maybe it doesnt work super well, but i slave the flak so they create a screen between me and attackers. Looks cool, sometimes catches missiles
Looking forward to seeing the Flak performing per its nature with the Vanilla+ framework!
