Great People and Heroes Screen Issues (November Patch)
Update x2: I uploaded the version that I currently have waiting for code review on the GitHub page. I'm fairly confident it works and worst case scenario if something else is broken then I'll upload another version sooner than later.

The workaround I had posted here earlier mostly worked, but there were other issues that required fixing besides what was done here.

On MacOS, the file (for me) is at:
/Users/USERNAME/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/workshop/content/289070/2115302648
