tips how to play the mod properly

hi guyz tnx for the amazing mod, lot of effort in it i can see that, i just "more or less" learnt how to command troops during a battle. I start as faction leader BUT, even thought i declared war, there s basically noone around.. i mean, how i can playa nd have fn if the map is basically empty ?^ ;D it happens to u as wel ?
