Beginner tips?
So, I'm following the RG storyline, which as I recall, is the old Alpha storyline and not the current one, and I can't get past Trial by Fire.

I'm supposed to kill 2 Zirax soldiers, however, I've hit one 4 times with a sniper rifle and the soldier didn't drop yet. They have killed me twice and I always lost all my inventory, even though, when starting the game, I specifically changed that to "Keep everything on death".

Running to my backpack and getting everything always costs me 240 health because I get shot at least once. Now it's getting dark and I'm standing behind a tree, hearing the shots of the enemy hit it but I can't even see them. And of course, I got killed several times by suddenly spawning spiders or dinosaurs

So, any tips on how to manage this? Especially given that I can't keep my inventory on death, no matter what I do? I tried doing a manual backup of the save but that doesn't work either.

Not to mention that I can't even produce bandages. Since I have been in Talon territory, I haven't found any Plant Protein. Also, whenever I pick up any resource in their territory, I lose reputation points with them.

This isn't the old alpha storyline, this is a custom one for Reforged.

Check your game settings when you load your game to make sure your backpack settings are correct. These settings are set by the game, not the scenario.

Use your drone (F5) to retrieve your backpack from a safe location.

The two soldiers are snipers. If you're in the open, they will make life very hard for you. They're more or less stuck near the bottom of the tower, so you should always know where they are.
You have a sniper rifle, so ONE shot to the head will kill them. Alternatively, circle the tower and come from behind where they can't see you and walk into the tower, use it as cover.

You hold your gun in your right hand, so when you use your scope your view transfers to your right shoulder. If you have a wall in front of you, you can shoot around corners from cover (this is how 80% of combat in both RG and vanilla is handled).
Running, jump and zig-zagging randomly does not throw off enemy aim.

You should've made armor before you started. I recommend going and making some if you don't have any.

The crash site where you come down is covered in plant protein and not in talon territory.
