Potential balance issues in 1.7
Vermillion, you have disappointed me with the lack of changes leading to extra depth you stated would happen to 1.7 on Reddit. You stated armour would be buffed and more viable but the lower repair costs and extra 10% blast resistance to Xeno does nothing to that.

You've raised the difficulty so much in a attempt to limit cheesy and game breaking tactics like "spin to win" and "raiding POI's with small HV's" that you've pretty much shoe horned everyone into one meta whereas doing anything else is not only unviable but suicide.

Using heavy armour builds without having any reliance on shielding is near impossible. Trying such thing in a CV in attempt to match the meta is potentially quadrupling+ the size in order to simply last as long, aggravating many issues. A 1000 Combat Steel SV should not be blown up by a POI in two hits of a rocket no matter how much a weakness armour has to explosives. We already have to contend with potentially higher weight, lower mobility and also a repair cost/repair time that most people playing seem to avoid by playing safe.

The ridiculousness that seems to be explosive damage and penetration is impossible to contend with so you are forced to rely on shielding. The potential new shielding from Capacitors and overall increased shielding of the AI only further reinforces it, people not relying on shields with more balanced or full armoured builds now have to contend with facing huge enemy shield reserves while have nothing of a real buff of their own and losing dozens of blocks every shot.

There is really one viable way to play and looking at HWS it shows, everyone utilises mostly the same design and ideas; a 5k-10k block agile CV using hit and run tactics relying on a abundance of shield. This is the way it's done for 90% of the content. Yes people build bigger or different, but it's usually at the super end game to show off when there's more freedom and leeway.

The difference in difficulty is very noticeable. This usually extends to all three types of vehicle, they are all affected. Not everyone wants to face a steep uphill challenge from not playing the meta. Demanding is fair, but this is sometimes beyond rage inducing in a game which is already riddled with enough bugs that can end you quickly.

Most people are happy with the changes, but I can already tell you're fixating on shields on Eden POIs, not on RG ones.
Drones, right? The shielded drones with 500k+ shields? Those are from Eden, not RG. I have no control over their shield strength.

A Tovera's shields are currently the strongest enemy shield in RG at around 125k. That is of course a dreadnought and the strongest enemy vessel, so of course it's going to be better than anything the player can use. You're not meant to be able to beat them solo.

There's no way to please everyone, so i've given up trying. This is my scenario and you have the option of not playing it.

RG2 will replace RG1 next year. I'm already receiving complaints about that and it's not even been released.

I never mentioned the shielding on POI's, Eden or otherwise. I'm fixating on shielding as a whole and the feedback of adding the Capacitors/Rechargers to both players and AI while not bothering with anyone who wants something different or more interesting.

Of course a lot of people are happy with the changes, it entails to the whole meta that everyone prescribes too and uses to the upmost benefit. Your initial feedback to those worried about 1.7 changes involved more interesting balance changes all around including changing armour with better protection.

"**What will be changed includes:**Turret rotation speed will be reduced to provide an advantage to fast ships that aren't spinning.Weapon damage vs hull types will be adjusted to provide greater protection for heavier armors.Reduced Repair Costs via station services for heavier hull blocks.New turret types (HV, SV, CV, BA, Zirax and Legacy)New fixed weapons (SV and CV)New shield damage groups based on quality of the shield generator instead of type.[6 additional Classified points]"

Such as is the difficulty it's currently either play the meta or struggle immensely, like having the 1000 blocks of armour on a SV destroyed in two rocket shots yet the base heavy shield generator on it able to take multiple shots for half a minute before hand. My clan mate told me a similar "frustrating" story with a HV taking on a Drone Base where he had to try to take it on aggroing with the tank's shield, when it went down the mass armour failed instantly leading to destruction so he had to keep respawning it.

You don't have to please everyone, you just have to try to balance it equally. It's a shame you held back to please mainly the masses who were the ones abusing tactics such as spinning in the first place then moaning when it got solved and not those who wanted more open ended creativity and flexibility overall who tried to fight your creations head on.

This is not the only issue. As much as i love the mod, the grind of this version has become insane. The search for all these new parts , like radiation shieldings, silver, superconductors took me allmost every fun to play the mod any further. I am spending dozens of hours bound on searching the galaxy for special ressources and POI without having the feeling of playing a game..
Ann there begins the issue of the TO. Without these parts you cant play the mod as described..

I would say...great mod, cpu balance is the opposite of balance imo. I have a ship for killing legacy and it was half the cpu that I had and now is millions over the limit and it wont even take off a low gravity planet. I spawned a few of the Cv s that come with the game and they wont lift off either. tough way to balance imo, I could not eliminate the never ending hordes of legacy in their system with my old ship, not sure how a single player person could ever match up to the enemy now. Love your work, not sure you used regular math to do your "balancing" computations. Reminds me of what I would have done in Call of Duty years ago to balance out the hackers if i knew how to program. In single player the bad guys have really built up ships with heavy shields and Superior weapons already. Not great mod for single player imo. One minute I was flying Santa's sleigh and the next it seemed like all missions where over, looking for a cool mission, think I will try eden without RG. Thank you for the ton lol, j/k, of great work you did for the game. !
