Also to answer your question: I don't think I've really played this on deity that much, but it's probably easier to get Ring wonders than other types because there are bonuses available you can leverage. You get a +25% bonus from an early shadow policy, so if you have strong culture output at the time the war of the ring starts you can get ahead that way. If you have a strong religion and finish piety you can get a reformation belief to get another 25% wonder production modifier. Most simply, if you're playing as Sauron you have unique access to the Barad-Dur wonder which in turn gives you a +50% boost. The best strategy is to play tall as Sauron and tech up while building the prerequisites for Barad-Dur. I can confirm, from games I've played and also AI-only games I've spectated, that the AI definitely does go for the Ring wonders (as well as the science wonders like Mirror of Galadriel and Dol Gulder) so it should still be competitive even if you're Sauron.

I still have an issue, I would like to play with Yenyang True Start Location Map, but I can't enable this mod without enabling his LOTR Civilization mod which make your mod not working anymore tech and culturally wise.. Any way to work around this ? YenYang TSL map looks great and it's the only one available by direct download that I could find.

Hello Dev I'd like to say first I appreciate immensely your continuing attention to your mod. I wish I had better news when i played it, as it does not remove standard Civ 5 wonders. In your original write-up it shows you include your own, reworked wonders and I'd love to see them without the world we all love, Arda, peppered with Temples of Artemis and Mausoleum of Halicanarsussses.

I have deleted the xml file that comes with your download here on steam, and replaced it with the one from your google drive. No dice, same issue. I haven't continued the game at all once I log in and see the Civ 5 wonders still present in the tech tree, but I want to very badly.

If you can help me that would be wonderful. Again, I appreciate you and your efforts.

In reply to myself, I'm going to download all files from your google drive and remove all from the steam download and see if that works.

Upon loading up I get "Unable to load MEI Icon" and all the races have a big red box over their leader on the race choosing screen. I'm going to undo all this, redownload from Steam and then work backwards.

TA-DAAA it works.

@couzzzman: Sorry for the late reply. METSL should not require Middle Earth Civilizations (Yenyang's other mod). To confirm, I just launched the game, and selected the following mods:

1) Lord of the Rings Civ 5
2) Middle Earth City States
3) Middle Earth Only
4) Middle Earth Soundtrack
5) Middle Earth True Start Location

And it does work for me. Is there any other clarifying information you could give me?

@couzzzman: Sorry, I just realized that since we're talking about the Mac version of the game it might be more complicated. In that case, your issue might be caused by the fact that older versions of METSL DID in fact require Middle Earth Civilizations. Shortly after I published this mod, Yenyang removed that requirement so that LOTRC and METSL could be played together. If you aren't getting the latest version of METSL from Steam but from a direct download link, then perhaps you're getting an older version from before that update.

I'm going to ask him to update his direct download link.

@couzzzman: He says he will update his direct download link for METSL. Maybe give him a day to do that and then let me know if you can get things to work.
