Press F on one of their hands with the gun near their hands. They'll instantly start using it if in combat. Same with swords, Knives, Etc.

It doesn't work for me, so I'm not sure if it has something to do with the keybinds or something else.

activate it if your binds are different

i know my activate keybind and it works for regular people, but it doesnt work for the modded ones

i get the human to hold the gun but then i cant shoot it when controlling

Then place your weapon near their hands, like right next to their hands. Hover your mouse over their hand, and press F. They should start holding your weapon. You can control them using W, A, S, or D, and you can activate the weapon using "F".
