Why won't it work???
If you are having issues getting Old School to work, follow these steps:

1. If you haven't already, click subscribe!
2. launch left4dead2 as you would normally
3. From the main menu, go to Mutation -> change mutation
4. Find Old School in the list and select it, then click Select Mutation
5. Now choose how you want to play from the mutations list, like you would with any other mutation. I suggest choosing Play with Friends -> Create New Lobby -> server type: Local Server, then choose the rest of the options as you like!
6. Survive the coming onslaught!

If following these steps doesn't help you, complain below!

when i try and play with my friend i get a compatibility error, even though we have turned off all our other mods to try this one on a local server. any ideas as to why this would happen and how i can fix it?

Hi Bub the Zambie,
Old School really shouldn't cause any compatibility errors.
My first instinct is to check you are both using the same version of the game. See if one of you can host a regular campaign and if your friend can join (with all mods disabled). If that doesn't work then your issue may be a little bigger than my mod, but should be fixable by telling steam to "verify integrity of game cache" (just google it if you don't know how :)
Once you've both done that and you are both have completely up to date versions of L4D2 and you can both play a local campaign, then try plying Old School with no other mods installed.
