Long Tan enemy mortars

How do I destroy the enemy mortars on the first part of the battle of long tan. i direct all artillery to fire at the red glowing things that appear on the little peninsula but they are so inaccurate and never hit them, I have tried about 20 times now.

you must aim for the cliff, with a slight deviation between parallel 7 and 8, just above the line of 0

I destroyed the 2 enemy Long Tan mortars with all artillery guns that I had with accurate shells but somehow it managed to kill my officers.
