Just had a bit of a laugh. I started at 58 and a few decades in Rome released Byzantium as its own nation. The AI did not divide Rome via event, it had a rebellion. So at this point I had Rome and Byzantium. Fast forward a a few centuries and after a few wars and rebellions the AI decides to divide Rome. So now I have West Rome, Byzantium, and Rome.
