Regarding Crashes with no error message
1) Attempt to Verify the Integrity of your game cache
2) Attempt to re-install the game, then the mod
3) PLEASE attempt to download it from the klei forums link and CREATE A NEW FOLDER in your mods folder called wisteria!

Someone has confirmed that the last method worked for them.

Ordinarily, without an error-message in game, that tells me there isn't an issue with coding but rather something is missing within your mod files or game files. I'm definitely no expert in this regard, but that seems to have been the problem with a few other instances like this.

I downloaded the zip file, I created the new folder, I made sure all of the files were in there, but i'm still getting the exact same crash. I guess i don't know what i'm doing wrong :/

Did you unsubscribe from the steam mod and delete its folder?

When I go to pick him as a character and scroll past maxwell, the game stops responding. Am I doing something wrong? This is the first mod I have tried to use. So far no other (character)mods work either, they all crash when I try to find the character in character select. Tried above suggestions.

I was rummaging through my Don't Starve files and i found two .dll files that weren't with all of the others. I put them with the other .dll files along with a random DXSETUP application i found. I put it with the .dll files and ran it, it installed Microsoft DX Runtime something or other and then when i went back into the game it worked!

The game crashes when I go to the character selection screen and scroll to Wisteria. Tried deleting the mod folder, then unsubscribed and deleted again and downloaded from the forums.

The game cache validates.

I've been able to play with other modded characters. The differences to those folders are:
- \minimap is present in others
- \mod_name.tex is present in others
- base PNG's (such as template_player_character.png) are not present

Too bad. She seems like a nice character :sfsmile:

The game crashes every time i scroll to her. i tried everything that you said, but none worked. i have other characters working, i have no idea why Wisteria doesn't.
Also i'm not getting any crash messages it just stops working.
Please help, she seems like a fun character :/

Hey there!

I'm hoping I can get to this very soon. I'm sorry she's crashing for you guys! As soon as I can get the time to sit down with it, I'll mess around and try to pinpoint the issue. I'm the only one working on it, and I'm not currently in a position where I can pour a lot of time into the mod. :(

I'm sorry for the trouble! Hopefully I can figure out a solution soon.
