Suggestions for Wisteria!
Hey guys! I've gotten a ton of suggestions for Wisteria, but sometimes going through all of the comments can get a bit overwhelming!

If you have suggestions for wisteria, be it Item or Mechanic, please submit them here! Be aware I may not include them all, but I am most certainly going to be taking them ALL into consideration!

Just as a reminder, SHE WILL NO LONGER be taking increased damage from enemies! That has been scrapped and replaced with a lower HP bar.

**I WANT her to be a challenge, so I want her to be underpowered! I may release an easier version of Wisteria later on down the line that is less difficult when Wisteria is complete, for those of you who want it. :)

one thing you could do is make it so that every time she kills a trapped rabit/bird she loses sanity but if she has a bird in a bird cage it gives her a small amount of near by sanity regen.

Something to do with the pigmen and rabbitmen maybe? I don't know how it would work but she seems like a nice person so maybe they could like her easier? You could have her being extra scared of hounds in exchange for it I don't know haha

As much as I love how Wisteria works, I think even a slight health boost would be good. I understand that mod characters are meant to be challenging, but the low health isn't good for how she plays IMO. The only character with health like that is Maxwell, and that's only because he has INSANE buffs, specically buffs that help him in combat. Wisteria has no such benefits to supplement her low health. Fights that normally mean nothing are suddenly a huge issue, and her "food healing" is hard to manage in the middle of a fight. Her abilities are useful, but combat becomes a huge struggle. So, maybe raise her health a little? Just a little? 20 maybe? Just a thought.

A thought on her bonus ability could be focused around her little basket. Say, have it introduce an extra 4-6 slot bag on the side of the screen where she can keep the items there. The kicker, if she places mushrooms or certain foods / plants, they get a bonus, or produce special effects. For example, if she puts a green mushroom in her basket, and eats it, she gets a 20% speed increase for the rest of the day.
To maintain ballance, only one effect can be active at a given time? Im sure coding wise, it wouldn't be hard to implement, as the item would simply have to mimic the code given when using the walking cane, etc. :)

I like the idea of her having a special Basket item that gives her a small inventory buff. Now when it comes to debuffs... maybe make her a bit scaredy with certain situations? Like, whenever she was near a sanity-draining item/area, she'd be forced to walk slower (barring enemies). Maybe even in deep darkness, I dunno.

Excellent character, btw. She fits the game perfectly! Very nice work. =)

The basket idea seems like a good start but is it a held item like an axe or is it an off hand item she always has... maybe backpack? I have no idea and the thought of making the basket seem like a lot of work for little gain. I would just better her around the world and her interactions with the world and everyone and everything that lives in it. Maybe she can cook mushrooms to better effect or other herds and such. Maybe she gets a boost from eatting flowers(more than 1hp). I love the work so far on her and can't wait to see more. XD

P.s. Her style is awesome and I love it. She is super cute.

I have a few suggestions if you don't mind.(Edited a couple times to better describe my observations). In the screenshots provided I've noticed that Wisteria's model looks similar to Wendy's. As far as I've seen characters have their own unique attributes and appearance; so I feel this sort of hurts her overall immersion for me. As drawn she has a noticeably smaller frame and head and her eyes are smaller, giving off the impression that she is kind and timid yet troubled. Currently this message is lost because it looks kind of like Wendy with different things on. If it's alright with you I feel this should be looked at for the sake of accuracy and to help with Wisteria's overall completion(and to make her feel truly unique for us to play).

That aside I am very interested in this mod and I believe you've designed her exactly as if klei entertainment would've, good job. I would like to try her but I feel the accuracy of the in game model is holding me back a bit. I'm looking forward to the inclusion of her unique item; that follows Klei's current design so it makes it feel more organic for us.

Some examples of what I mean:
1. Wisteria's chin isn't pointy, her head is smaller and rounder when compared to the current version which is larger and sharper like Wendy's.
2. Wisteria's eyes are a little smaller and there isn't as much of a dark circle under her eyes when compared to Wendy whose eyes are larger and the bags under her eyes are also larger. (however dark circles shouldn't be omitted, I rather like them.)
3. Her own map icon(I played her a little and noticed it was Willson) and some unique features to support her character if there arent already. (Sounds, Visuals, Item etc.)

The only suggestions I have are

>make crops grow a small percentage faster
Also, I'd make a map icon for her, if possible, amd maybe flesh out some of the details on the ingame sprite (it's incredibly accurate for a modded character but could still benefit from some touching up).
Loving it otherwise.

mabay give her some craftable's considering she's the herbalist, maybe potions of health, sanity, or hunger, using the three mushrooms in game, or perhaps she can craft useful things like a food preservitive for meat, and a seperate one for vegtibles, or even specifict monster repellant, these could be crafted with good/evil flowers, honey, reeds, and other objects that dont get enough use in game...

ten seconds later...

now just having read you want her a challenge, mabey make a whole new machine you have to craft to create to craft these items, as well as have the alchemy station, or its creations attract monster's or have the rain and moon phase be requirements for these crafting recipies.

Was anything like the map icon and crafting added? It'd be nice to see her having a custom set of items, such as "Instant Sanity", "Clearing of Mind" (sanity regen), and similar items, like a healer, an appetite satisfier, little things.
It'd be lovely if she also got a custom intro, not something long like Writhe's, more something snide, Maxwell sorta rubbing it in.

Not yet! Those are forthcoming, along with an update to her face; I'm going to make her look more like herself and not just taking on Wendy's face. :) Thanks for the feedback!

I also had a couple more ideas for characters if you're interested. One involves an origin for the deadly disease (sadly, it would involve potential time travel on Maxwell's part), another involves a Royal Chef (Simular to Wisteria, but with food, and it also involves a dark side when he goes insane), and then a concept I have no idea what to work with on, that last character idea mostly focuses on someone slated for execution, needing to escape.
Anyhow, Wisteria is a lovely mod, can't wait to see the new face :D
If you're changing her face, maybe make one side of her hair curl up a little more or something, not sure
