Destroying Planets with the death star

I'm having problems with the death star not being able to destroy enemy worlds when it's in orbit I click to destroy the planet and it doesn't do anything I then I right click it and it says "X" next to destroy planet what do I do to be able to unlock or get that destroy world option?

I'd try reloading your save, it's a bug.

I just tried and also started a new game but it still shows "X" and doesn't allow me to destroy planets do I need a DLC or something?

You need Apocalypse dlc to destroy planets
