What year is the game actually taking place??

So as asked above, the game starts in 7958, which to my star wars knowledge, there is no calendar that actually has the formation of the first empire around that time. This is more of just a mental reference to know at what point in the timeline am I at.

19 BBY, the calendar we use is the admittedly anachronistic CRC calendar because of physical coding limitations we were unable to satisfactorily overcome. For every eight years that pass in 'Stellaris time', figure that only one year has gone by in 'Lore time'. I.e. 7958 is 19 BBY so 7966 is 18 BBY.
