Isolated start for the Chiss Ascendancy
Chiss feels extremly isolated. I m at year 8050 and still haven t discovered any other civs despite expanding a lot. There's simply no hyperlanes connecting me to the main part of the canon galaxy. Is there something i m missing or is it just how the map is designed?

What size map are you playing?
I can't guarantee this is correct but I have observed that on the small cannon map, the unknown regions stay locked away.
Larger maps will have hyperspace lanes become discoverable mid-late game. Additionally, the yuuzhan vong doesn't appear in my small map playthrough.
Just my observations but I think it's something to do with keeping performance from suffering too much. The small map seems to exist solely for that purpose.

I know I have played on larger maps where I have received a notification that new hyperspace lanes have been discovered to the unknown regions. This leads to an exploration and expansion frenzy through the unknown regions. Playing as the chiss, these lanes will appear to your northeast.

Well thx. I m approching midgame and it was weird to be this isolated from the main hub

Tl;dr Chiss are locked away till mid-game.
