Sandbox Rogue Armies
Mega Faction Unlocker now provides access to four custom-made Rogue Armies which, hence the title, were designed for 'sandbox-style' gameplay. These factions are:

The Sandboxers
The Creative Assemblers
The Randomizers
The Youtubers

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The first two Rogue Armies on the list (The Sandboxers & The Creative Assemblers) have access to almost every unit in the game and agents from all of the game's races.

They start with a generous amount of gold and are designed primarily to allow the player to mess around with all sorts of curious/funny/interesting unit combinations. For example, you can combine units and agents from Skaven, Lizardmen, High Elves and Dwarfs into a single army.

The last two of the Rogue Armies on the list (The Randomizers & The Youtubers) are designed for more genuinely challenging gameplay and to provide a near infinite amount of different gameplay experiences of highly varying difficulty.

At the start of any new campaign, these factions will start in a randomly chosen position (i.e. in one game you may start in the north of Naggarond and in another game you may start at the east of Ulthuan). Additionally, these factions will only have access to a limited roster of randomly chosen units. Although the number of different units available for recruitment is most commonly between 6 - 15, there is no actual lower or upper limit of how many units will be available - the possibilities are endless. Ultimately, playing with The Randomizers or The Youtubers will provide highly variable gameplay experiences - no two or more campaigns with these factions will ever be truly alike.

STARTING LOCATIONS

The default starting location for all four of the Sandbox Rogue Armies is the Aghol Wastes (Eye of the Vortex) and the Chaos Wastes (Mortal Empires).

Although The Randomizers and The Youtubers can spawn anywhere, it is possible that the randomization process may not work and will instead start at the default location.

CAN THESE FACTIONS BE PLAYED IN MULTIPLAYER?

Yes, they are available for Multiplayer Campaigns.

KNOWN ISSUES

You might say that this latest addition is in something of a beta. Here is a list of current known issues that I plan to look at in the future:

-Female agents and non-Empire agents all have male Empire names.

Getting the right names for the right agent types can be tricky and time consuming but I will definitely look into this sometime later. For now you can rename them yourself if it bothers you too much.

-When playing as The Randomizers and The Youtubers the unit recruitment panel is full of disabled units and it's slowing down the game.

This is also tricky to address and as of now I am not aware of any scripting command that can hide certain unit cards.

Please report any other issues you may find when playing as any of these factions.

FUTURE:

Agents have been added back to the Sandbox Rogue armies though they're still messy and some are missing their correct graphics altogether. I'll work on that later on.

Hey! i just tried to play randomizers, all went well, appeared in ulthuan, went to build my recruitment building, and could recruit all the assigned units just fine - but after 1 battle i was unable to recruit any units at all

Hello, could you maybe write a guide or link me to one where it teaches how to modify one of these sandbox armies preferably the ones with full rosters to make my own custom horde faction? Like I want to make a thematic army by deleting most of the units from their recruitment pool and replace their banner with something else.

Question, is there a way to disable these 4 armies for appearing in a Vortex campaign or ME when starting a new game? I really don't want to be facing them as other races as i keep running into them with entire monster unit rosters of every other races and get absolutely decimated lol.

You normally should never run into the Sandbox Armies because they only appear when under a human player's control. If they are appearing on the campaign map under the AI it means a mod you're using is incompatible and is breaking the game's scripts.

Great...I figured as much lol. Hmm, question is, what and how, as there appears be very few and far between guides for load orders (if that's also an issue) and incompatibilities.

Any clues where I could start? Biggest mods I have are things like Radious and OVn plus a bunch of unit and graphics mods and "dogs of war" along with also things like using Mod Configurator, Mixus unlocked as well which could be causing issues perhaps.

I'll pastebin a mod list later on and see about getting some help if that's ok :).

Found the culprit. it's OVN. When OVN is enabled it causes the sandbox armies to clump together in the top right in this case (playing as wintertooth) plus a few other random rogues to appear near me. Hmm. I've tried moving your mod to load AFTER OVN but that doesn't work, neither does moving it back to load before. Would it be worth giving OVN a shout or is there anything you can do with this mod? I'm guessing it's a OVN issue and part of its script is causing ALL available factions to spam onto the campaign map.

If I understood correctly the OVN mod modifies the start_pos which means it is naturally incompatible with Mega Faction Unlocker and pretty much most other mods that change the start_pos. I'm not sure if there's anything I can do to help with compatibility but I might have a look at it later on.
Can you pIease change the coIour of the sandbox factions wheneverr you use any sort of Iizardman/scaven it hurts to Iook at.

I already released an update that changes the uniform colors of the Sandbox Rogue Armies to how they normally should look, for example The Randomizers now have an orange/brown color.

If the colors haven't changed for you, it could mean your mod hasn't updated. Try unsubscribing and re-installing the mod.

Secretly hoping that the 4 custom factions (and rogue armies) to have the ability to make any faction a vassal. The thought of my utterly bonkers brigade trying to uplift a minor skaven faction that usually gets eaten by lizards within 10 turns to take over the world while I just burn stuff down would be funny

That's an interesting idea. I will probably do this only for the Sandbox factions though.

would u make sandboxer rouge faction start up anywhere in the world map ..... it is kind of boring that sendboxers or CA rouge faction always start up in chaos wasteland
