The class really does feel like Occultist + Antiquarian but with only 1/10 of the utility of Occultist and 1/5 of the gold farming capabilities of the Antiquarian.
In concept, it is great. Collect its unique items to buff its abilities and farm gold in the end of the quest, but in reality it's just super weak until its unique items are actually collected in the inventory...
Furthermore, it's not that strong even when it has all 3 unique items in the inventory.
I'd rather use an Antiquarian than the Practitioner to be honest, since she provides better gold farming capabilities AND better utility.
I've recently made over 110k gold with quad antiquarian comp and I dare say that the antiquarian is more practical than the Practitioner, at least, at the moment.
Then again, what do I know.
I did play Darkest Dungeon for over 4.5k hours, but I'm not very good at assessing balance.
Still, I would dare argue that the Practitioner is too weak at the moment.
I'm currently writing a review for the Korean Darkest Dungeon community and I'm having a lot of trouble trying to find a way to make this class competent!
Help me out here please! Buff it maybe? Thanks in advance!
First thing is the cost of his artifacts, he has 50% to find 1500 gold. This easily makes him best modded gold collector, and in combination with already broken banks this makes money farm so easy. This is very op, lowering chance of Artifacts will greatly reduce his combat value, so i suggest lowering artifact cost to 500, this seems way more balanced, but still leaves good opportunity to farm.
Another thing which bothers me is his Self-Immolation.
Damage reflection is probably most undervalued hero effect, but if offers very strong damage to attacker enemies and Hard-hitter bosses. At first glance there is anything wrong with this skill, but spamming it with artifact allows you to get incredible damage ,what could eat big pile of boss health(Greatest example is the Swine God).
Btw, his descriptions of skill now have two lines of: "effect" then artifact in the inventory, and calm mind has two fully identical stats in the description. It seems to cause doubled effects, but i haven't tested it yet, but if it does so Reflection balance coud be solved.
Welp, hope this will help, Fishy boi is one of my favourite classes, and i really love your mods
EDIT: I tested out him more, and now i can confirm that his skills have doubled effect, so original damage reflection is okay, but this bug makes Practitioner incredibly overpowered
