Organ bleedout times
Hey there! Does anyone know the Vanilla organ bleedout times and the Death Rattle bleedout times?

The original Death Rattle and Death Rattle - Comatose mod modify things in order to make organ loss less fatal, guaranteeing death over time as opposed to instant death.

I hate to be that guy, but playing with Combat Extended, for example, a destroyed lung or destroyed kidney produces a bleedout time of 1400% per day, resulting in either 1-2 hours before death. I'm not sure if this is being overidden compared to what Death rattle changed Vanilla away from or if Death Rattle never changed bleedout times at all and simply disabled the instant death from the loss of such organs.

I tried doing testing to figure this out, but even after half an hour of running gunfights without Combat Extended I couldn't actually get anyone's organs destroyed. Their arms and legs kept coming off and their organs remained pristine, lol.

Basically, with the way Combat Extended handles everyone who's down from a shootout lasting no more than 2 hours (which is roughly equivalent to like 1 minute and 30 seconds for 1 hour) it becomes insanely hard to get anyone to a bed, even if it's nearby. Combat Extended's Stabilize feature is only allowed to be performed once and lasts something like 10-15 seconds, and I know specifically Death Rattle and Comatose were designed with longer time scales in mind to make for a more reasonable difficulty for saving people compared to if 1 hour was 1 rimworld hour (with the days being accelerated).

If anyone is playing with these mods combined, if you guys have come up with any solutions to sort of balance this out a bit, any suggestion would be appreciated. If there was just some way to maybe double the time to something like 2-3 minutes, things would be more fair I think (finding some way to half the bleedout to something more like 700% per day).

The point of these mods after all was to make organ loss more survivable provided you got to a pawn in time. But Combat Extended always has to mess everything up all the time, doesn't it.

Thanks!

Combat Extended dramatically increases bleed from organ damage, particularly the liver and heart. That particular value is stored in xml. I don't recall if it is the body def, or the organ itself. You should be able to change it easily enough to tone it down if you like. Personally I'm not too fussed by it, because imo, blood loss concerns and function concerns are two different beasts. If you have a giant hole blown through your chest and have your liver destroyed, not only are you at risk of immediate death from blood loss, but you also need to sort out the destroyed liver even if you manage to survive the initial injury.
