XCOM 2
Buildable Units (LWOTC compatible)

Mod requirements and optional companion mods
Mod requirements:

Technically, none.
  • You need the Shen's Last Gift DLC if you want to use Junk SPARKs.
  • You need Long War of the Chosen (any version) if you want to use the Drone family, or another mod that adds them, such as hectorzx's Advent Drone mod. Look here for a guide on how to set up Drones without LWOTC.
  • For Resistance MECs and MEC Archers, I set up a config option that allows you to swap their body and launcher appearance to the standard Advent MEC look in case you don't have LWOTC or another mod that adds them; with the vanilla look, Resistance MECs and MEC Archers have no other mod requirements. You'll find this setting in XComBUOptions.ini.
  • The MEC Pyroclast requires Iridar's Spark Arsenal mod or Claus' Spark Flamethrowers mod in order for its weapon to function properly. Buildable Units is configured to use the former by default.
  • All of the units in Buildable Units have the Evac ability added to them, but if you find you can't evac them, you should grab RealityMachina's Custom Soldiers Evac Zone Fix.
  • There is also one Highlander hook in Buildable Units, but its function is only required with LWOTC, which comes with its own Highlander anyway.
  • You'll need Team CX's Celatid Alien if you want to use Celatid Turrets.
  • You'll need Team CX's Advent Psi Ops if you want to use Phase Drones.
  • You'll need a mod that adds SHIVs if you want to use the Buildable Units edition of them. I personally use Alpha115's version.
  • You'll need Weapon Skin Replacer to hide SHIV projects if you don't want to use them, as well as hiding the original projects/items associated with SHIVs, Phase Drones and Celatid Turrets.
  • In addition to WSR, you'll need Spark Arsenal to make MEC variants and SHIVs easier to detect if you want that feature.
  • You'll need RustyDios' New Target Icons 2020 if you want new target icons for the Buildable Units.
  • You'll need RustyDios' Expanded ROBOTICS Repair Bay if you want most of the Buildable Units to repair like SPARKs do. Celatid Turrets are excluded by default but you can add them yourself if you want to be a hipster about it.
  • You'll need [WOTC] Iridar's LW2 Laser and Coil Weapons - Assets if you want the new weapons for Alloy SHIVs and Elerium SHIVs to show up properly.
  • You'll need my Mechatronic Warfare Perk Pack OR the original Mechatronic Warfare mod for the Collateral Damage ability, assuming you use SHIVs (specifically, the Elerium SHIV has this ability).
  • You'll need Frost Legion for the Frost MEC and Frost Droid units.
  • You'll need ADVENT Military Assault MEC for the Prototype Assault MEC and Military Assault MEC units, as well as Mod Jam if you want to leave Buildable Units' configs as-is.

(Please note that all of my personal testing has been with LWOTC.)

Change the required corpse to a different one, like a standard MEC Wreck.
