Does Injection work on imprinted hybrids?

I just got a male and female Mantissaur and bred them, imprinted the baby. Its fully grown now and i gave it a combat injection 2 and it just didnt work. Theres no cd when i ride it, its not draining its stam- nothing. So does injections work on borned hybrids and imprinted
