How do you guys stay motivated during a run?
Because the gameplay of this mod is rather slow and you often play the long game (quite literally), how do you stay motivated during the times were nothing important really happens in your realm?
I am currently in the situation that I have a small but independent kingdom which is strong enough to defend against invaders but not strong enough to conquer my neighbors (at least not those who I want to conquer). But since the Black Death wrecked my Capital despite precautions and set the development back to 0 it takes a lot of time to redevelop and upgrade my realm (I am back at 5 development now but it takes 10 years to increase by one).
So basically I am just sitting in front of my screen waiting for my development to increase and to gain enough money to build/upgrade a building and not doing much else.

This mod gives you a lot of stuff to do while you're waiting. If you can't wage conquests and develop your realm, you can still increase your leader's power by hunting for vitae and leveling up the different power types. These powers will give you new ways to beat your enemies, both in individual duels and when leading armies in battles.

Well... I already ate myself up to 4th Gen (startet at 6th) and fully mastered all sanguine and melancholic trees. Currently I'm leveling phlegmatic and choleric disciplines although slower because I had no luck with resonances yet.
I also found a good way to make money by letting my shadow twin search for secrets in different kingdoms and then extorting them for money with the gained hooks.

My motivation in early game is to find 4 people with 4 different resonanses which are at least intense, so you turn them into vampires, herdify and auto feed a significant amount of blood and get 100 points in every vampire skill tree except animal quite fast (and i don't know how it works because sometimes i am leveling so fast it becomes annoying to open the skill window every second, may be there is no cooldown on autofeed option. So when you feed on your herd vampire, this vampire just feeds himself and he is ready to be fed upon again)
In the same time i try to unlock every vampire power possible by seducing and asking for mentoring
And when you have a character who is strong like that you are able to win even against stronger opponents or even try to get 3rd generation although even with high stats it is very random and is quite useless

Keyword for the day is goals; before you start a run, decide on three separate you want to achieve in your play.

For example;

- Become the examplar of the flesh - hit prowess 100.

- Slay all active 4th or 5th generation kine in Europe.

- Exsanguinate kine who are contrary to your clan-kine's law in your Empire's reach.

- Lock down an entire region with only you clan-kine in it.Other kine of lesser blood may seek sanctuary in your hallowed halls, but hold no office, and are not trusted with tasks. Pick a kine that is non-persona to exterminate, share not the border with those foul beasts, no matter the cost.

- As the immortal blood-kine, tolerate no other of Cain's kine in your demesne. Your salvation is through mortality itself, and the fleeting connection you have to it. Yours is the true land of Nod, and you're the damned Shepard to a mortal flock in eternal night.

- Declare no wars

- Do not embrace or ghoulify.

- Judge any kine who has more than 3 sires as in breach of the Masquerade. Cleanse every such breach.

- Gehenna is being caused by impure blood - cleanse in the name of Cain, and restore the sanctity of blood.

- My love is immortal, but you are not. In your domain, kill all below a certain POSITIVE view value, irrespective of usefulness.

- I drink people by the gallon; no herd, just prey. Eat people to restore blood.

- I am not prey - never take any option to reduce masquerade exposure when given ANY other choice. Sheep hide, cattle herd, but you are mighty, and do not bow to those you eat.

- You are the blood-fiend; mortal-kine bows to your ghoul horde alone. Your servants are ghouls and revenants; they are your slaves and blades. To have another kine serve beneath you is to put yourself above Cain, the Blood-Father, and he never has asked your service. (No vamps as lords, knights, agents, or as a member of the council)

- Have fun. Best game I had with this mod was a Brujah conquest of Africa, murderating all not of clan-kine the heck out of there. And then suffering huge revolt because someone, somewhere, liked a Tzimisce

Try to roleplay instead of playing a normal game. Everytime I played normally, I achieved almost everything I wanted, until I realised that was quite boring. You start as a count, and in less than 100 years you overpower your neighbours and more... What's the fun with it? Until I started roleplaying, focusing on what my character would do; my family, a romance, my courtiers... Avoid exploits, challenge yourself, even you can try to kill your character and make a parallel story with another one... That's my recommendation

Try to get demonology and bind demons to you by learning their true names. Collect the entire set of sins or go for as many as possible.

I start as a min-maxed revenant with every available 'supernatural' skill such as sorcery, then capture mummies to become an immortal. In the meantime I obtain the dynastic Witch Coven perk and then breed like a mofo to create a race of revenant superhumans - even changing religious tenants to do this, summoning fertile and diverse lovers using the sorcery skill, abducting them, etc. I grant every fief to members of my dynasty - down to the baronies, meaning it's also easier for them to breed AND I get a ton of dynastic points.

Mid to late game I become a vampire and because at that point I'm usually done conquering at least all ofEurope, I start accomplishing every major goal I can get my hands on. I do this with every vampiric religion and because I have True Faith, I can instantly convert every province which means little to no instability.

I also try to breed every supernatural type into my bloodline and once I'm a vampire I can just convert pretty much any good mortal. This helps extend the 'fiefs only to go to dynasty members' principle even to fiefs that were vassalized.

I also try to maintain at least one kingdom for every splat. I.e. a Wyrm-corrupted kingdom run by Werewolves(because Wyrm faiths are typically more tolerant than other Werewolf faiths).
