Motivating childer to lower their generation and Caitiff stuff
In my current run I started as a custom 12th Gen Caitiff on Malta with the goals to create my own Bloodline via decision and to collect all the chapters of the Book of Nod.

For the first goal I need to diablerize my way up to 5th Gen which isn't that much of a problem besides the diablerie itself. I'm currently of 9th Gen with two childer which are of the 13th and 11th Generation. Now I was wondering if there is any way to get my childer to lower their generation by themselves (without diablerizing me).
Will changing my/their religion/path to one that accepts diablerie increase the chance of them doing it? Do personality traits like Ambitious make attempts at diablerie more probable? Are there any other ways to raise the chances?

For the second goal as far as my knowledge of the vanilla mechanics goes I will have to buy claims on artifacts which is unlocked by a diplomacy perk and then either demand the artifact, steal it or challenge the owner for it. Does PoD add any other possibilities in that regard?

Also can you guys recommend counties with special buildings that are good for Caitiff, preferably in the Mediterranean area?

If you want lower generation childer then embrace new ones. There's no drawback for having a whole brood of them.

I'm doing that but I also would like my older childer to "catch up".

For the various questions :

PoD adds other perks to unlock buying claims for artifacts, most notably in the intrigue and stewardship trees.
Rome is a wonder not too far to Malta available to everyone. As is Barcelona.
AI will never diablerize for the moment. Making the AI be sensical about it and creating events if they were to target the player would be a lot of work.

I get that the AI trying to diablerize the player and creating events for that might be a lot of work but would AI diablerie be so much different from AI murder plots?

Not that much. Our diablerie scheme isn't linked to the vanilla murder scheme right now though so it would require moving it to it.
All in all, to be clear, it's far from an impossible task. Just not deemed a priority right now. Keep in mind that diablerie is an abhorrent horror in the lore, done only by a handful of vampires, it's far from the common ladder climbing tool used by players. So the AI would have way less use of it and only use it if on the more extreme roads anyway.

I totally get that. It's just that I play an upstart Caitiff this run so I have a somewhat big focus on it.
Other than greedy, ambitious upstart vampires it would/could add flavor to the Banu Haqim, hunger frenzies and nemeses dynamics though.
