Crusader Kings III

Princes of Darkness
Why Even Bother With Alchemy?
Sorcery used to grant you the ability to become a full Werewolf or a Changeling by performing the necessary ritual at a high enough level. However, it seems like this was overhauled and patched out in recent updates so that now, the Brewing only succeeds in turning you into either a Kinfolk or a Kinain.

Which, although these do get access to SOME of the splat's abilities, they are extremely limited compared to what a full member of the splat gets.

I want to believe that using the potions a second time will allow you to become full fledged. But the cooldown on Unstable Soul is so long, I have not yet had the patience to test it out.

As it stands now, it seems like the only way to become a Werewolf or a Changeling is to make a custom character and actually choose the splat at the start. Because from what I've been told, you will NEVER go through the First Change, or the Chrysalis if you become a Kinfolk or a Kinain. Nor will any of your children, unless you marry a full member of that splat. Which, given the fact you're playing a mortal, probably means you're a Hunter, and thus you and your spouse are trying to kill each other.

So I've got to ask, if you've decided to remove the option to become a full splat, then why even bother keeping these Brewing recipes in the game at all? It's nothing but a watered down and vastly inferior version of the real thing. Better to just get rid of it entirely and tell the players to roll one up at character creation.

Strangely, the Vampire potion seems to have gone the opposite route and gotten an upgrade. Originally, it made you a 12th generation Catiff, no matter who your sacrificial subjects were. Now it makes you a Caitiff 1 generation higher than your subject. So if you've managed to capture a sweet 4th generation, you can sacrifice them to become a 5th gen Caitiff.

Unfortunately, you will be clanless. Meaning you don't get a seat at the table when it comes time to form the Camarilla!

In pen and paper a 5th gen Caitiff would be OP AF.
In this mod the biggest downside might be the lack of legacies and objectives. Especially Salubri Watchers and Ventrue have really nice ones.
Here is some cheese for you: Have you tried picking your parent(s) after the transformation?
