[Optional changes / fixes]
Multiplayer compatibility
I've created these optional fixes in a way that should be compatible in multiplayer with people who are using the same version of Misc Fixes, but without the optional changes enabled.

How to use enable optional changes
In the local mod files (see How to Use section of mod description), go to the Optional changes folder, and copy the files from there into the relevant folders (e.g. art files from optional changes go into the mod's normal art folder) - overwrite any files that conflict. To revert the changes, just wipe the local copy of the mod and copy the Workshop files over as a local mod again.

Asian Attack Helicopter
  • The vanilla version of RoN (pre-T&P) had a special texture for the Attack Helicopter that Asian nations would use. In T&P this was overwritten with the unique Russian version of the unit, but there's no known technical reason that both can't coexist.
  • The skin has been re-added for Asian nations as an optional change.

Asian modern (Age VI+) Spy
  • A modern Asian Spy skin was present in vanilla but removed in T&P. Currently a single model/texture is used by the Asian Spy during all periods of the game.
  • The removed skin had very poor readability in most conditions so has not been directly re-added.
  • However, I've modified the texture and tested it for clarity over multiple iterations, and this new version has been added as an optional change. I believe this iteration provides a good balance between aesthetics and visibility/readability.

Anti-aircraft jamming texture
  • Something is wrong about the way that the jamming texture is shaded in RoN:EE. The texture is a sleek translucent blue color and is supposed to look like this[riseofnations.fandom.com] but in EE it instead looks like this[riseofnations.fandom.com].
  • Unfortunately it's beyond my current capabilities to resolve this issue, so instead I've modified the effect's texture (which to be clear is identical between game versions) to be less visually loud and included this as an optional change.
  • Please note that this is far from a perfect solution, and is simply intended to be "less bad" than the alternative whilst keeping the same visual style. Example of the optional jamming effect here[i.imgur.com].

Zoom out on world map in Napoleon CtW campaign
  • The ability to zoom out slightly on the board / world map has been added. The default zoom setting has not been changed, and the ability to zoom in further has not been enabled.
  • This is only an optional change because I lack a deep understanding of why something of this nature isn't already included by default (i.e. is there a graphical compatibility issue or something if it's enabled?).

Test map (NO LONGER INCLUDED)
  • This isn't exactly an optional change/fix, but a test map is included that allows you to more easily test some of the changes (particularly some of the juicy ones like Brigs / Clippers / Fluyts), but because the scope of the mod has ballooned over time as I find more bugs, I haven't continued to update it with pre-spawned units involved in the fixes.
  • To test changes not pre-set on the test map I recommend instead using the game's built-in cheats to test relevant changes e.g. spawning in units that have been modified. Note that some units that change based on nation (e.g. Main Battle Tanks) have to be built/trained - if you spawn them in directly you'll only get the default unit of that type instead of whatever the nation normally has. To test such units quickly you can cheat in resources and the production building (e.g. Barracks).
