Naming: Ashkenazi & Sephardic cultures have a different set of names to choose from, especially for dynastic names.
Religious Doctrines & Tenets of all Jewish faiths: As it stands, monogamy was only officially codified into Ashkenazi Rabbinical Judaism by the 11th century CE - All Jewish faiths start out as polygamous.
Adds flavor to Sephardic & Ashkenazi cultures: Clothing, Unit & Building models adjusted as needed for all cultures + ethnic looks.

Could you please add the holy sites of Tiberias and Hebron as well as Job's tomb in Salalah, Oman? (Dhufar)
thank you for making this mod!! I always want to play Jewish characters but it really is playing on hard mode, not to mention how off-putting some of the inaccuracies in the base game can be

is there any way to support you in doing this? do you have a patreon or something? also, I'm not sure if there's a way to do it, but having Judiasm be more common in the world in general might be a good addition--otherwise, the tiny amount of Jewish NPCs makes it so frustrating to try and play Jewish rulers. also, I don't know if it's possible to change the religious icons for the Jewish faiths to a Magen David or something instead of a menorah, that would be excellent.

Tiberias has already been added as a holy site, for Kabbalists, that is. We'll be changing holy sites in the upcoming updates, plus including some new ones (Tomb of Job, Tomb of Mordecai & Esther, Tomb of Daniel, and Cave of the Patriachs) with special bonuses.

I do have a Patreon! It's pretty new and can be found here[www.patreon.com].

We will be trying to make Jewish NPC's populate the world, as well as having options such as inviting Kabbalists (as Jewish rulers) to your court. As for the religious icons, the Star of David will be used here and there - we're trying our best to be historically accurate and working within the limitations of Paradox's Modding framework! :)

Regarding change of a menorah to Magen David: Magen David appeared sometimes in synagogues and Jewish ornament during the game's time period, but it never was universal Judaism symbol before the end of XIX century. So, as @Kay has already said, it will appear here and there, but not as religious icons, at least not as default ones.

Any plans to add the decision to build the Third Temple/Restore the Temple of Solomon and found the kingdom of Israel?

These already exist for Jewish rulers.

To restore the temple you just have to control Jerusalem as a Jewish character, and I think establish the Kingdom of Israel - It will then have an option when you replace/upgrade the Dome of the Rock.

Oh, didn't knew about this lmao. Any plans to add more religions or doctrines? How about more events related to jews in non-jewish realms?

any plan for meltingplot culture after forming israel?
McLovin 9 Sep, 2020 @ 6:25am
Hi, great work on the mod! Would it be possible to change barony names depending on culture? I.e. the Israel region changing to Hebrew names when the counties are controlled by characters of Israelite culture? I haven't seen any mods really do localization for counties/baronies yet, so I'm wondering if that's just really difficult or they didn't have the time to do it.

Hiya, to answer your question: It is difficult to localize holder & holding titles for new cultures. Paradox has made it reliant on a couple files that I've still not been able to toy with to playtest new cultural titles for Israelite cultures. Hopefully though, this will be resolved quickly though.

Omg thank you so much for making this mod. It is very cool and I know like there are very few of us in the gaming community but like it is very cool to see this. I had some ideas. Feel free to ignore them, but yeah thank you is there any way I can contribute or help? I'm good (that's subjective but I've done it for a long time) at python and front end but terrible at most else but I would literally be like happy to make a site or something or help if you wanted to get some answers from orthodox and non orthodox jewish community members.

Modern State of Israel (Ben Gurion, Golda Meir etc)
- If you develop the modern state of Israel (presumably similar to the king david achievement but in a more recent era and developed cities) you can have people making aliyah like in the civ mod
- Israeli music, especially folk music. Or just jewish music in general is very cool.
- IDF, though I am not 100% sure but I think it is an accurate part of history and excluding it would be presenting a one sided view (maybe it starts as conscription but you have the option to reduce levies)
- I live in the diaspora but I think an modern representation of Israel it's culture and history would be engaging and informative, if it involves buildings or events as they do in the civ mod etc.

Jewish Texts
- Historical events, like when parts of the Talmud were written. I'm not sure what would happen, maybe a boost to cultural/religious spread
- The dead sea scrolls (I don't know if you listen to israel story podcast but it's very good this)
- Loading pictures which had excerpts from the siddur or famous Jewish thinkers modern and past, there are many good jewish painters I could suggest
- Use of Hebrew, Yiddish, Ladino incorporated to promote awareness of languages

The Map
- There should be more jewish starting countries. Or like pockets of the disapora represented in culture and religion in several locations. I enjoy starting as Beta Israel but it is really really hard to start with them when you are surrounded by like 5 major countries that don't like your faith. An easier solution to this would be to have other jewish countries nearby you could form alliances with.
- Also I don't know how to fix this but if you convert jewish (it's very expensive and takes most of the game) in Britain for example everyone immediately declares war with you and it's sort of annoying. So I guess a feature which improves religious tolerance somehow.

Extra
- Option to wear a kippah/star of david or chai necklace
- Option to disable jewish loans

Also they are making rosh hashanah a national holiday in ukraine so if you add national holidays yeah it would be historically accurate and also cool.

Anyway in conclusion thank you and hopefully this mod receives the attention it deserves

The Talmud was complied circa the 4th-6th centuries (Yehrushalemi and Babylonian respectively). The Dead Sea Scrolls also were compiled centuries before the start of the game. As for languages, we will be trying to add them to some extent :)

As for the Kingdom of Israel, we will also be trying to add unique features, events, and decisions for that!

The Map does lack a lot of Jewish counties on start, with most being in the Khazar area in the year 867. We will be trying to mitigate it by looking into historical hot spots of Jewish belief during Medieval Times and adding appropriate rulers and holdings for them. As for conversion, it is like that for most if not all religions when you try to convert - It is based on the faith group. I'm not quite sure how we could speed it up, or implement religious tolerance beyond what the game has right now.

For the extras, we will be looking to implement graphics but right now, both me and Salmon are only coders and writers. Once the modification is in a much more comfortable place, including potentially Patreon making a bit, we will be hiring for artists. For the disable Jewish loans, we can try to make something that will disable it in the game rules.

We do have plans on adding more doctrines or faiths relating to Judaism as well as events for non-Jewish rulers pertaining to local Jewry.

Hey im not sure if it would be historically accurate but would it be feesible to add in a trait and event chain to essentially find "proof" that you are descended from the Davidic line?
