is there any way to support you in doing this? do you have a patreon or something? also, I'm not sure if there's a way to do it, but having Judiasm be more common in the world in general might be a good addition--otherwise, the tiny amount of Jewish NPCs makes it so frustrating to try and play Jewish rulers. also, I don't know if it's possible to change the religious icons for the Jewish faiths to a Magen David or something instead of a menorah, that would be excellent.
Tiberias has already been added as a holy site, for Kabbalists, that is. We'll be changing holy sites in the upcoming updates, plus including some new ones (Tomb of Job, Tomb of Mordecai & Esther, Tomb of Daniel, and Cave of the Patriachs) with special bonuses.
I do have a Patreon! It's pretty new and can be found here[www.patreon.com].
We will be trying to make Jewish NPC's populate the world, as well as having options such as inviting Kabbalists (as Jewish rulers) to your court. As for the religious icons, the Star of David will be used here and there - we're trying our best to be historically accurate and working within the limitations of Paradox's Modding framework! :)
To restore the temple you just have to control Jerusalem as a Jewish character, and I think establish the Kingdom of Israel - It will then have an option when you replace/upgrade the Dome of the Rock.
Oh, didn't knew about this lmao. Any plans to add more religions or doctrines? How about more events related to jews in non-jewish realms?
Hiya, to answer your question: It is difficult to localize holder & holding titles for new cultures. Paradox has made it reliant on a couple files that I've still not been able to toy with to playtest new cultural titles for Israelite cultures. Hopefully though, this will be resolved quickly though.
The Talmud was complied circa the 4th-6th centuries (Yehrushalemi and Babylonian respectively). The Dead Sea Scrolls also were compiled centuries before the start of the game. As for languages, we will be trying to add them to some extent :)
As for the Kingdom of Israel, we will also be trying to add unique features, events, and decisions for that!
The Map does lack a lot of Jewish counties on start, with most being in the Khazar area in the year 867. We will be trying to mitigate it by looking into historical hot spots of Jewish belief during Medieval Times and adding appropriate rulers and holdings for them. As for conversion, it is like that for most if not all religions when you try to convert - It is based on the faith group. I'm not quite sure how we could speed it up, or implement religious tolerance beyond what the game has right now.
For the extras, we will be looking to implement graphics but right now, both me and Salmon are only coders and writers. Once the modification is in a much more comfortable place, including potentially Patreon making a bit, we will be hiring for artists. For the disable Jewish loans, we can try to make something that will disable it in the game rules.
We do have plans on adding more doctrines or faiths relating to Judaism as well as events for non-Jewish rulers pertaining to local Jewry.
Great idea - we will see what can be done.
