Also in Garry's Mod (and other games that use some sort of path finding) you cannot run an NPC that walks around without a navmesh as the Pathfinding will get confused causing an error. So garry just full out removes the Pathfinding part of NPC's if there are no navmesh making it unable to move around your map but still work as intended.
