Will update the mod now to allow this.
I also had an idea for a corpse carrier, for carrying lots of dead stuff to the air lock, maybe also more types of storage that can be put on a rack like medi-bags, engineering crates, a little trashcan, etc
Thanks for the heads-up! I'll jump on the unstable version shortly and adjust the mod in preparation for its stable release.
As for more types of bags and stuff I do plan on doing something like this! I had a plan for a body-bag in mind which can hold and nearly store any corpses and such.
As for the racks, the duffel bag is currently able to do this and I believe there's a mod on the workshop which opens racks to all items. I can implement a feature like this in the future if it's what people want though for sure!
EDIT: I have now prepped the mod for when v0.10.6.1 (unstable) releases to a stable build.
If you are torn between keeping this mod balanced and not just make a balanced version and an unbalanced version.
For balanced: Remove boxception and lower speed based on fullness.
And I don't know much about this, but can you make items take up more than one slot in this game? if so, make the Ammo Boxes and similar items take like 4 or more slots each... If not nvm..
EDIT: So i just noticed you've literally ripped my mod and just changed the texture. Nice to see theres scum in the modding community.
This has kinda been the point of modding since the dawn of time; to customize your own experience or changing something you felt needed changing, usually by using community resources like this one. You've made something good that people can use, why try to stop them, especially if they give credit?
As for actual suggestions; is it possible to make it fill from top left instead of from bottom left? Would let you fill items normally (dragging them into the hotbar icon) while letting you keep your most used tools near the bottom for easy access without cluttering them with junk you pick up.
Currently I am just storing my stuff at the top in the backpack UI, it's not a big deal but would be helpful.
Allowing us to have upgradeable backpacks would also be nice, could fix the complaints about it having armor-like stats by having different tiers give zero, half and full stats by adding a recipe requiring for example
Tier 1: organic + ballistic fiber
Tier 2: tier 1 backpack + 3 ballistic fiber
Tier 3: tier 2 backpack + 6 ballistic fiber
though I worry crafting these upgrades would destroy the items inside.
A "heavy buffel-bag" that acts like a Storage Container (briefcase, aka can't be put in your hotbar, only held) would also be nice for when you are organizing cabinets since you can just equip it directly from the cabinet with a double tap. In fact, it might be more balanced if all duffel bags acted like that but I guess that kills the convenience, which is the point of the non-balance version.
