[2.0] - (SDK) Overhaul - Ship & Station Generation

Planned Update #3 (Closed)
Hey guys, I'm working really hard on the next update for the Overhaul. Here is a list of items I'm working on for this update. If you want to talk about Balancing or Fixes please use the Discussion for Balancing.

Content/Additions:
  • (Completed) Global Faction Pack assignments for all Factions instead of just the Global Pool of Designs.
  • (Completed) Finish the Extension Mod to allow users to add their own custom content.

Rebalancing:
  • (Completed) Adjust Latchers weapons range from 1.2km to 2.0km.
  • (Completed) Limit the number of total minion spawns a Summoner can create based on difficulty level so they run out.
  • (Completed) Limit the number of times a Quantum can jump per min to prevent cancer jumping.

Fixes:
  • (Completed) Fix Code to allow Titans to spawn.
  • (Not Done) Fix Lady Adventurous Exploit (Vanilla Game Issue)
  • (Completed) Temp Fix Pirate scaling till the Dedicated Pirate generator is finished.
  • (Completed) Fix Scrapyard Sector Generation: Sector is currently generated one item at a time (Vanilla Generation).
  • (Completed) Fix Turrets not generating on all Stations for increased sector defense.
  • (Completed - Untested) Fix Military Outposts not using Fighters (Vanilla Game Issue: No Pilots & AI Order not set)

(Update) Added Mni-Update #3.1:
  • Reworked Scrapyard Sectors reducing average load time from 4 mins to 45 seconds.
  • Scrapyards should feel more "alive" than before. They now react to the environment.
  • Scrapyards will now be populated with new scrap as they run out.
  • Scrapyards will populate unstripped wreckages.
  • Scrapyards have a very small chance to spawn Station wreckages.
  • New Scrapyard mechanics work with player-owned scrapyards. (There will be balance changes as we move forward with this.)
  • Micro fix for Linux users. There was a case sensitive variable that would throw an error.

(Update) Accomplished Change Notes for Update #3:
There were a few items I couldn't complete based on the time required to do them. I didn't want to hold back the majority of this update trying to get the last items finished. The scrapyard fix is going to take a bit more work than expected so it will be in a future update as it requires a lot of work with the sector generator and doing async calls to create objects.

  • Added 21 new Ship and Station Designs by Drazhill.
  • Added Global Faction Pack assignments. Each faction will be assigned one of the loaded packs which is will use to generate items. (This will apply to currently generated factions)
  • Created the Mod Extension which will allow other creators to build Global faction packs to add to the game. (Creating a Discussion for these)
  • Fixed Xsotan Scouts not spawning with the built Designs.
  • Adjusted Summoner Minion spawns: 2/5 will be Hunters, 2/5 will be Decimators, 1/5 will be Annihilators.
  • Placed a Limit on the number of Summoner Spawns based on the difficulty level. 8 on Easy, 14 on Insane.
  • Placed a Limit on the number of Reclaimers a Summoner can spawn.
  • Placed a Limit on the number of Reclaimer Spawns based on the difficulty level. 25 on Easy, 50 on Insane.
  • Set the max number of Latcher Spawns in a sector set to 15 globally.
  • Increased Latchers weapon range to 2km (was 1.2km).
  • Quantum ability completely rebuilt to scale with difficulty.
  • Quantum ability uses a Charged based mechanic for jumps instead of accumulated hits which allow you to drain them of the ability to rapidly jump.
  • Adjusted the Pirate Generation and scaling to be more uniform. This should prevent excessively large Pirate ships from attacking sectors.
  • Adjusted the Pirate Scaling when more than one player is in a sector. Reduced the overall factor by 1/10 for balance.
  • Almost all Boss fights now scale with the difficulty level. I'll add additional mechanics in future updates for this.
  • Fixed "The 4" so they spawn in ships more reasonable for their jobs.
  • Fixed "Specimen 8055" so it spawns using a ship more reasonable for its fight.
  • Fixed "Fidget" so it spawns using a ship more reasonable for its fight.
  • Added a custom Ship design for Boss Swoks.
  • Boss Swoks now has his own custom faction: The Pirate Guild, which will be expanded in future updates.
  • The AI, Big Brother, and the Corrupted AI all have custom Designs by Black Disciple.
  • The Laser Boss has a custom-built design now provided by Black Disciple.
  • All stations have two chances (40% & 25%) to get turrets.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented Titan class ships from spawning.
  • Reworked the generator to make it truly randomized for each ship being generated.
  • Store various vanilla function calls that were being over-written to variables to allow for use if needed.

The Xsotan waves are too much. The frequency needs to be turned down. It's too unbalanced, and they're slowly destroying AI stations. In addition, the enemy ships don't do enough damage and have too much health.

sector guard does not attack (freezes) AI

I would just like to point out a couple of things. There is a separate discussion for discussing balance. If you think the Xsotan are too much, you should post in that thread instead.

Also I am pretty sure sector guards freezing is a vanilla AI problem.

Amazing update! Been playing this mod for the past 2 weeks but had so much difficulty starting up, this feels so much better!
