Men of War: Assault Squad 2

CheatsMod - 4.96
Option to change camo? (Using vanilla camo)
First off, love your mod White Snoop as always, and awesome work.

Like the title of the thread, I was wondering if you are going to implement an option (like the option to change countries ingame) to change the camo? Or if that is even possible to do? Mod feels a bit off, fighting in a snow or desert map, and when you spawn soldiers or tanks, they spawn with the default grey camo.

For the moment there is no way for me to give tanks and artillery camos.
For the soldiers I could but I thought since the vehicles don't have m, I might as well not do it for the soldiers. Adding camo's means that there is going to be duplicate units (1 for each camo).

What I had planned was an icon ingame for you to change camo (matter of fact, I already have it working). Problem at the moment is how ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up some files are for modding (looking at you DMS).
Untill they have fixed this problem, I might consider releasing it.

Any updates on this so far? I got the HD texture skins for the infantry and vehicles mod, and it's abit off now that the difference in Camo is clearer... I would love it if the infantry camos can be placed tho! I don't mind waiting for the vehicles and stuff.

Keep up the good work and thanks alot for reading!

I have those mods too. Frankly if you cannot wait for him to change the camo, you can just (if you know how to that is) dive into the code he made and modify the camos like I did.

Or even better, make copies of his code, change each copy with a specific camo and seperate names, like rename them to Urban, Winter, Summer (like what he did with his tutorial).

Again, this is just a gist of my idea, with respect to Whitesnoop I will not go into detail without his permission. Also if you don't know how to, or if you don't want to mess up your game and have to redownload some files, then don't do it, wait for Whitesnoop to put in the camos.

Thanks for the reply bro!

Well, I just want to change it to winter camo only, so I'd honestly like some help into identifying where can I change the code!

NP.

Again, I don't mean to be a killjoy but I can't really help you cause I modded the game to my own tastes and I respect modders enough that while I might tinker around with their creations I can't reveal how I changed it or what because it was for my own personal use, and showing you how or pming you feels like hijacking and thats a big no no. Just ask Whitesnoop for help I'm sure he'll be glad to show you how to change the camos in the code. Or you can search for it yourself and experiment. Sorry wish I could help.
No probs, the fact that you actually replied with some info on things really helps alot! Thankiews!

Shogun, go ahead. Its no problem if people make their own modifications and publish them. I love the idea of "open source" and like people to "fork" it to their taste.

About the camo I must say that for infantry, this is possible to do, the only problem I had was that had to update allot of files if something changed, and with that in mind cheatsmod always needs updating. It also brought some problems with people who wanted to change inventories of the infantry, meaning they would need to edit it 2 or 3 times (depending on camo)

Tanks is even going to be a bigger problem. I've used an ingame function "placement" which always places units (tanks as we speak) with their basic camo. I've tried to write a function that sets a camo on spawn, but I couldn't get that going well.
The reason I use this "newer" system is because it decreases its code size. The old way of doing it made the game unstable for some people, resulting in crashes. In COOP this thing happend even on my end.

I hope to make it all work again someday tho. Its just the old way of how I got the camo working took way to much space (and people liked to spawn all faction units)

Also sorry for the late reply, I hope I will have some spare time to work on all this for you guys.

Senpai Dev noticed this! @~@

Hahahas, it's fine man! So the problem right now is code efficiency...
