ive done quite a lot of testing with the one cvar "sb_allow_shoot_through_survivors" and from my testing, it is MUCH better to default that setting to "1"

i did my testing on Dark Carnival Roller Coaster, and if that setting is put to "0" then from what i noticed in my 3 runs i did with it at "" the bots do indeed have trouble defending themselves, and more often then not survive with either very low HP, or they get incapped due to not being able to shoot a common behind their friend

when i put the setting to "1" for 3 test runs, the bots never once got incapped, and they made it through that roller coaster with a lot of HP left. this is because whenever they would get surrounded by commons, they could shoot through each other to kill a common that would be attacking another bot from behind.

this is understandable as to why the default game has this setting on "1" as it allows bots to actually defend themselves in a horde situation

Sorry i didn't see the thread. I used "sb_allow_shoot_through_survivors 0" because i hate when they shoot through me and make my aim shake and i often play with bots friendly fire on but probably you are right, they are better with "sb_allow_shoot_through_survivors 1". Thx for the suggestion.

im not the dev but i will give my opnion anyway, they will play better and you are right, but they would be playing better by "cheating" and not by skill cause the correct gameplay is so the bots do damage to other playres cause if you a human shoot another survivor they do take damage.... but unless you plan to disable bots cheating, its better to set it to 1 yes... and should be the default (unless the mod makes the friendly fire damage by default on too)

Five months late and I hope you guys don't mind me necroing, but it's better to let the bots "cheat" than make them play by the rules. They're far from a human player and I'm not expecting them to get the same logic an actual player would do (stop meleeing a Tank, stop walking near the Witch, move to evade infected while the spit dies down, etc.). Disregarding the perks this mod gives, all they really do is run, shoot at the targets, and follow the human player. They can't deadstop a Hunter/Jockey, cut the Smoker's tongue in time, purposefully cr0wn a Witch without order, strategically throw and shoot gas cans, tricking and evading a Charger - you get the idea. The bots are more for extra firepower, really. Think of it as guns just floating behind you and shooting targets it sees... only this time they can talk and have human bodies.

That's people tastes I kinda dislike cheating, and the bots with the proper mods and configuration can finish all campaigns alone without cheating on hard and some on expert they are only dumb for versus tho, for me making bots cheat its just the easy way to workaround a problem, but there's no problem of making the bots cheat they already cheat on the vanilla take its just personal preference, i myself try to improve then and remove the cheats.
