Colonisation: Rise and Fall Mechanics
Hi there developers. I love the colonisation mechanics of colonising new settlements but I do have some thoughts about the direction you are taking them.

1. Colonisation should be expensive, and decisions to get rid of bandits, dragons and other things should cost gold instead of being free in the current version. I reckon that'll make it more immersive and a bit harder for those people who think this mod is easy.

2. There should be a mechanic where holdings can be reverted back to wilderness. E.g. there could be a new type of war (e.g. 'Extermination War') where if succeeded the holdings targeted will be reverted back to wilderness.

Or if a holding gets occupied by orcs (or even just a evil-aligned ruler) in a different war then there is a 50% chance of destroying it and reverting it back to an un-colonised place.

Or if that is still too easy you could introduce random events like a dragon potentially spawning and taking a settlement if the development reaches a certain point, it could even be your capital. I think this'll be very cool, very immersive and as a bonus it'll be just like the Hobbit when the Dwarves got run out of Erebor by Smaug.

3. Un-colonised places should be dangerous and frustrating. As in if you push an army through even just one wilderness barony it would take attrition and lose supplies very quickly, potentially turning around entire wars if the AI or you decides to take the shortest route. This would give an incentive to both colonise these places to avoid these debuffs or to even leave them as wilderness as potent natural defences you don't need to spend any effort reinforcing.

It will make the player actually think as well rather than mindlessly building up development and might even result in a completely new strategy of playing CK3 than simply building tall or building wide.

I hope you liked these ideas and I hope that at least some of these ideas might be implemented into the mod at some point.

But most importantly, as I've noticed a lot of hate and slander in the comments, take all the time you need and have fun while you're doing it. Otherwise what's the point?
