Class/Species Overview: Sectoid
- The Sectoid has three specializations. Mindbender focuses on impairing enemies, orthodox mind control, as well as supporting allies. Telekinetic is about manipulating the battlefield through repositioning, and also features the Sectoid's most potent sources of damage. Puppeteer revolves around more unorthodox forms of control, such as Psi Zombies.

- At Squaddie rank, the Sectoid gets Psi Reanimation as well as Mindspin and Nictitating Membranes. The version of Psi Reanimation they get is the same as enemy Sectoids'; the Psi Zombies cannot melee attack with a dash move unless you pick the Necromancer ability later on.

- The Sectoid's entire main tree now consists of Psionic abilities and abilities that modify them. They will only learn more traditional abilities, such as those that relate to shooting, through the Training Center.

- Sectoids are fragile (especially to melee) and their guns are weak, but they are the best infiltrators due to a mix of their Psionic abilities and how common a sight they are.

- Their options against robots are limited. Consider selecting abilities like Machina Puppeteer or Fuse to help deal with them. Sectoids can use grenades, so EMP Grenades are also a good choice.

- Due to the Sectoid's melee weakness and the Lost's immunity to mental status conditions, it is advisable to NOT bring them to missions involving the Lost unless you have a reliable way of protecting them. The Apparition ability is a good pick for this purpose.

- The Sectoid is the only alien that is guaranteed a way to revive a fallen ally, via the Restore Life ability.

- Their GSGT and MSGT abilities are very powerful, but don't get too smug. Remember: anything relating to mental control or Psi Zombies WILL be nullified if the Sectoid gets disoriented, stunned, put into Stasis (for which there are no real counterplay options) or of course flat-out killed, which can and will happen if you don't keep your Sectoid safe. A Mind Shield is recommended gear, but even with one watch out for those Priests.

- Any utility item that can help out a Psi Operative's Psi stat, like a Neurowhip, can help a Sectoid too.

I'll be reworking Sectoid at some point soonish, at which time I'll also deal with Void Flood somehow. I do have something much more urgent that just came up modding-wise, so bear with me.

I read that psi operatives assigned to resistance havens reduce the chance of faceless infiltrators, presumably stacking with battle scanners. Assuming that's true and still a feature of LWOTC, do sectoids have the same ability?

They do, as do Frost Necromancers.

Great Mod! My Sectoid can not upgrade their class to Gunnery Sargent because both of the options have pre-reqs that are not available. Null Lance requires Solace and Void Rift requires Soul Steal. Neither of which were options at a lower level. If you are still working on this mod please note that for the update :)
