Playable XCOM 2 Aliens For LWOTC

Class/Species Overview: Naja
- The Naja is the sniper of the alien family. They have three specializations. Tip The Scales is what to go for when you want to alleviate the weaknesses that plague snipers. It lets the Naja be more mobile, fight at closer ranges and punish pesky robots. The Basilisk tree is a hard-hitting long range skill set for a sniper and generally rewards holding a position rather than moving ground. To round things off, Spitter is an overwatch tree with some exotic options, such as using the Poison Spit ability as a self-buff rather than an offensive technique.

- At Squaddie rank, the Naja has Squadsight, Bind And Crush, Poison Spit, Parkour and Molt. They are also immune to poison. Unlike most snipers, the Naja does not carry a pistol. The Tip The Scales tree is your best bet if you don't want to have to babysit the Naja, otherwise you can still rely on Bind And Crush to mess up a Stun Lancer. Don't rule out retreating.

- Much like LWOTC's Sharpshooter, the LCPL rank is crucial. All of the abilities at that rank are strong picks, and the one you take will play a big part in defining the Naja's role.

- Abilities such as No Scope and Avenger will let the Naja fight even while on the move. Remember to also make use of the wall climb granted by Parkour; any Naja build will benefit greatly from high ground.

- If built just the right way, Najas can punish enemy robots at range harder than any of the other aliens can thanks to abilities like HEAT Ammo, Anatomy and Alpha Mike Foxtrot.

- Najas can equip and throw grenades.

Do Naja's suppose to have god-tier aim at Corporal rank or was i just lucky with not created equally roll ?

Because its like third month and i managed to rescue a Naja from a truck and looking at her's aim i am quite puzzled, 86+20 aim which is like Master Sergeant Sniper and Ranger tier aim.
Not that i mind that though, snipers in LWOTC are quite hit or miss and consistency in one department is something i can appreciate.

I used RealityMachina's version of the mod as a template for the aliens' base stats, which had them all at 70 or 75 base Aim. I might nerf their aim across the board at some point if enough people think it's deserved.

Out of all the aliens, Najas are one of the ones with the highest base Aim stat, 75 (tied with Muton Hunters, Muton Prowlers, Archons and Berserkers), and the one with the highest Aim growth through rank ups. This is mainly because while Najas have all the same weaknesses as a human sniper, they don't have access to some of the tools human snipers have in order to be more flexible (pistols being the big one, although no grappling hooks and no bonds are relevant as well), especially when dealing with enemies that are immune to poison and Bind And Crush (e.g. robots, Andromedons, Chryssalids).

Of course, your Naja there won't be plagued by those weaknesses as much since you have Snap Shot and Traverse Fire. Note: all of my classes are balanced around only one main tree ability per rank (but don't let me tell you how to play your game, you do you).

serpentine does not make deadeye a free action(and honestly that might be a bit too strong anyway) but more importantly snapshot seems to make it impossible to deadeye as your first action so you have to move then snapshot deadeye to do it

Specifically, Serpentine works by refunding the actions spent on those abilities after they're used. I should probably change the wording. As for Snap Shot and Deadeye interactions, the Snap Shot version of Deadeye is actually a separate ability, so I'll add that to the list of things Serpentine affects.

sorry if my wording was confusing. i meant to say that my naja cant use deadeye before doing anything else because of snapshot. aka i cant use deadeye as my first action, i have to do something else and use deadeye(snapshot) after.

Well, the latest update I did here added the Snap Shot version of Deadeye to the Serpentine list. If Deadeye can't be used as the first action with Snap Shot learned, that's likely an issue with those two abilities, unrelated to Playable Aliens. Deadeye working with Snap Shot is a LWOTC native feature, so it might be worth bringing up that problem to the LWOTC devs.

You running LWOTC? That's where the weapon model is from.
