Class/Species Overview: Frost Bomber
- The Frost Bomber is a Muton variant that focuses even more on close combat than the Muton Trooper. The In Cold Blood tree primary revolves around the Frost Bomber's shotgun and is great for taking on multiple enemies both proactively and reactively. The Nuclear Winter tree is almost entirely focused around grenades, making it the most consistently reliable build, particularly on short missions. The Yeti tree features an offering of melee and utility techniques, many of which are good choices for mixed builds with the other two specializations.

- At Squaddie rank, the Frost Bomber has the Stay Frosty, Taunt, Frost Counterattack and Left Cross abilities. They are also immune to Frost.

- The Frost Bomber relies on staying right up at the front even more than the Frost Adder, as it only wields a shotgun primary, does not have Slug Shot as a mainline ability and cannot melee attack with a dash move without either specific XCOM deck rolls or acquiring a Frost Elite Bayonet. Rolling low Mobility with NCE would be best suited to the Nuclear Winter build.

- Stay Frosty is a new ability for the Frost Bomber in Playable Aliens, and works like a once-a-turn Close Combat Specialist that only fires when the target gets within 2 tiles. It works great on its own, but also combines well with Close Combat Specialist itself, giving you a second chance to take out a particularly tough or lucky enemy trying to get close.

- The Taunt ability has great synergy with Frost Counterattack, as the Defense penalty will make enemies likely to attack the Frost Bomber, and the Dodge bonus will allow Frost Counterattack to proc reliably. Be careful about using Taunt when there are a lot of gun-toting enemies around.

- The Frost Bomber does not have the Ice Shield ability that enemy Frost Legion units have, but this also means it does not have to be any more careful of Fire or Psionic based attacks than typical soldiers do. Its innate Frost immunity can make it a decent counter to the Frost Legion.

- The Frost Bomber's shotgun's crit damage damage is not quite as high as a typical one, but it has a base magazine size of 6, making it well-suited for using Close Combat Specialist and other abilities that use up a lot of ammo.

- Frost Bombers can equip and throw grenades.

- The Frost Bomber's shotgun is guaranteed to inflict Bitterfrost on any hit, but it cannot benefit from special ammo types or equip Experimental Magazines. The Frost Bomber itself cannot equip special ammo at all.

- Cosmetic bonus: if you run Iridar's Bayonets mod, the Frost Bomber will have a mag-tier standard bayonet cosmetic on all of its shotguns, to make the melee skills look more sensible. Note that even if you don't have that mod, the skills still work, they just don't look as good.
