Class/Species Overview: Frost Necromancer
- The Frost Necromancer is a Sectoid variant that emphasizes damage and Bitterfrost rather than mental ailments and supporting squadmates. The Absolute Zero tree offers versatility through letting the Frost Necromancer spread Bitterfrost without relying on Psionics, as well as offering a handful of abilities that protect it from enemy attacks. The Cryokinetic tree is entirely a Bitterfrost-based pure Psionic tree, making it the best for easily stacking up Bitterfrost, dealing with groups and not having to care about the Frost Necromancer's position, although it becomes effectively useless against certain enemies like the Frost Legion. The Bone Chilling tree is about manipulating the undead, both in terms of raising your own and easily wiping out the enemy's.

- At Squaddie rank, the Frost Necromancer has the Brain Freeze, Nictitating Membranes, Spectral Frost Reanimation and Melee Vulnerability abilities. They are also immune to Frost.

- The Frost Necromancer will likely spend more time shooting than a standard Sectoid, owing both to its blaster's Bitterfrost and a small handful of skills that encourage shooting. Between this and skills like Frost Mark Target and Sliprain, the Frost Necromancer is much better at dealing with robotics.

- The Spectral Frost Zombies, compared to a typical Psi Zombie, move slower and do less damage, but are more durable and inflict Bitterfrost with their attacks. Unlike the playable Frost Necromancer itself, the Spectral Frost Zombies do have Ice Shield, so try to keep them away from Fire-based enemies to ensure you get the most mileage out of them. The Frost Necromancer also cannot summon as many zombies total or do it as quickly as a standard Sectoid does.

- The Frost Necromancer does not have the Ice Shield ability that enemy Frost Legion units have, but this also means it does not have to be any more careful of Fire or Psionic based attacks than typical soldiers do. Its innate Frost immunity can make it a decent counter to the Frost Legion, at least defensively.

- Like a standard Sectoid, the Frost Necromancer's blaster doesn't do much damage and it cannot supplement the damage with special ammo types. Kill assists are the way to go in terms of ranking them up.

- Frost Necromancers can equip and throw grenades.

- The Frost Necromancer's blaster is guaranteed to inflict Bitterfrost on any hit, but it cannot benefit from special ammo types or equip Experimental Magazines. The Frost Necromancer itself cannot equip special ammo at all.
