I may be one of the creators but who am I to judge what one sees in it, only that I know what was intended.

It's a good overall looking pyro cosmetic, I'd say, it's quite versatile and can be used in more a few nice looking cosmetic sets. It's more on a "simplistic side" I think but it doesn't make it any worse in my opinion. But I'm not your parent and I can't force you to think otherwise.

you forget, half the OFFICIAL cosmetics and weapons are crossover items. Official items MADE BY VALVE. i think this one's fine. I would wear it all the time, if that means anything,
