Apparel hiding under beds (slab bed)

I am not able to get hats (bowler hats, helmets, cowboy hats, etc.) to hide on slab beds and just unable to change layer settings for slab beds (wearing power armour on slab beds) in general. Not quite sure what the fix is, would be great if someone could let me know.
